Mobility Danes of New England, Inc. Mobility Danes of New England, Inc. is a non-profit organization training Great Dane Service Dogs for mobility.

SDP’s main mission is to breed, raise, train, and donate certified service dogs to people who experience difficulty with their balance or mobility. These partnerships often help to enhance the recipient’s quality of life as they attain greater independence. Preference is given to military veterans, first responders and their families. Our second mission is to serve our local community. SDP’s farm

is a destination for all ages — from teens doing community service, to seniors in search of a meaningful task and social interaction, to military veterans (many with PTSD) who enjoy feeling useful and connected while doing farm chores. Our Road Show project of dogs and trainers visiting senior centers provides much-needed smiles and comfort.

Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk Maine held its annual Woofstock Festival yesterday and we were thrilled to attend. Pecan, Onyx, Izzy, Echo, and Galaxy joined the many dogs enjoying a beautiful day. There were food trucks along with many other vendors. Also a small agility course the dogs got a chance to try out. Great exposure and a perfect place for training.

Walnut was a good sport posing recently by the dancing water display in Newburyport. Most of our trainees prefer to keep their distance, but Walnut bravely got close enough to get his feet wet ⛲️.
