Here is what to expect during the Kitty Corner Social Club adoption process.

Fill Out the Online Application: Start by submitting your adoption application through our website. Link below.

Application Review: The team reviews your application and checks for a good match.

Approval Notification: If approved, you’ll be contacted to arrange next steps.

Schedule Pick-Up: Set a time to pick up your cat — our pick up times are between 4 - 6 pm on Sunday, Mondays can also be arranged.

Visit Again: Our cats go to their new homes Sunday afternoons/Mondays. If you would like to bring your friends and family in during the week to bond with your new family member, let us know! We would love to have you.

Adoption Day: Pay your adoption fee (or nothing if the adoption is sponsored), and bring your cat home with a starter kit; microchip registration - if cat is micro-chipped, current vaccination records, health check, starter food from Leash on Life, and 28 lb bag of World's Best Cat Litter.

Vet Visit: Enjoy a free wellness check at our partner vet, Cat Clinic of Iowa City.

Settle In: Prepare a quiet space at home for your new cat to adjust, and introduce them slowly to their new environment.

Ongoing Support: Access resources for food, supplies, and post-adoption questions from our team at Kitty Corner Social Club!

QUESTIONS?

Do I have to have a cat in mind to apply?
No. You can be apply before you find your purrrfect match. Applications are free, there is only a fee to adopt once we match you with your forever friend.

Why does it cost money to adopt?
Our prices reflect our own cost to adopt the cats and the care and keeping of them while they are here. We purchase their food, supplies, and cover their vet care while they are in residence.

I applied but didn't get the cat I wanted - now what?
We often get multiple applications per cat. We appreciate your grace and understanding as we fit the perfect cat to their forever home. If your initial choice is no longer available, we will arrange another time for you to visit to meet our adoptable cats!
