Restock day The Crumb Collective!
If you haven't been, you must stop by to see what all the fuss is about. Cheesecake, ice cream, waffle cones, sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, lots of cookies and brownies AND dog treats all under one roof. Its like a one stop snack shop for you and your pets 🐾🐾

We are excited to announce another ( #3) retail location to buy our treats! Opening at the end of June, Riverside Market, located at the intersection of Wealthy Street and Lake Drive, will be a great location close to downtown GR to stock up on treats to spoil your pets 🐾🐾

So many good things happening!!

This past Saturday at Byron Center was fabulous and I love to see community support so many wonderful small businesses! The ladies from Rolling Rabbit Books did a fabulous job planning and organizing the event and it was truly a fun day 🐾

I have more exciting things happening in the background and I can't wait to share them with you later this week ☺️

As always, if you need treats, just message me! I can prepare your order and we can find a meet up, drop off/pick up time. I am always around in Grand Rapids, Grandville, Ada, Lowell, Saranac, Clarksville. You get the picture.

As I get back to a “normal” schedule and busy season approaches, I thought I’d take a minute to explain why/how I started making treats in the first place. I read the back of a treat bag! No really!

I had started buying 3 different types of treats for our 3 dogs. One dog needed a chewy treat, another was picky and would only eat certain ones and the last wasn’t picky, he was a bigger dog and just needed a treat he couldn’t swallow whole. One day, I looked at the back of the bags to see if they had any common ingredients and was surprised at what I found:

Vegetable oil as the second ingredient
Sugar
Salt
Dextrose
Red & yellow dyes
Made from “global ingredients”
Many had 4 different preservatives
…and that's just a few!

That eye opening moment turned into a challenge to make treats all my dogs would love. Through many different recipe versions and feedback from family, friends and coworkers, I developed a soft baked dog treat without all the icky stuff above. The Pumpkin Peanut Butter treat was born and then the Apple Sweet Potato soft treat came soon after for the dogs that need a low-fat option. Even now, as large as my treat menu is, none of them contain preservatives. Many of my treats are 5 ingredients or less including the cat treats.

Simple is better and you always want what's best for your pet. Giving them high quality treats is one way to show them all the unconditional love they show us. And that’s why I started 🐾🐾

A few of you have been asking so I wanted to update you all on what's happening with the bakery. And no, I didn't go out of business 😁

In mid-November, we began to have well pump issues at my home which is where I bake all my treats. I hurried to bake ahead as much as I could (yay Christmas treats and Nail Trim Survivor treats!) but some of my products are best fresh (boo Pumpkin Peanut Butter treats).
Our well pump gave up all together and died shortly after that. The big problem was we didn't need just a new well pump, we needed a whole new well drilled along with the new pump. And that doesn't happen quickly we discovered! Obviously, I had to stop making treats until I had running water again.
Our new well was drilled shortly after the new year 🫠 and we finally had water by January 5! However, part of the new well process is having your water tested for bacteria. So, out of an abundance of caution, I am waiting for the results before I resume baking again. Which should hopefully be the first part of next week 🤞

That's the short version. Like a lot of people 2025 wasn't the greatest for me and December was just awful so I opted to take a little break and focus on a few other things in life that needed more attention. I needed it more than I realized but I miss you all!
