Congratulations Marquis L. Laude Danielle Piascik and Mark T. Boonstra

FHANA would like to congratulate our FHANA Board of Director electees. These new board members were elected by the FHANA membership and will take their seats during the upcoming Board meeting held in Cincinnati, OH. Help us welcome Marquis Laude, Danielle Piascik, and Mark Boonstra.

FHANA would also like to congratulate our newly elected KFPS member council representative Bert Mourits.

We want to thank Jo Ann Clough for her dedication to the association and breed during her tenure on the board and Jack Vanderkooy for his faithful representation of the association during his tenure on the council.

Thank you to all who participated in the election and to all the candidates.

The election is still slated to be certified on February 22 and the data from this election will be released at that time.

The Northern Michigan Friesian Club would like to thank everyone for coming to our keuring in Corunna Michigan on October 7th. We were honored to have Ester Reen and Marissa Visser as our judges. The keuring was well attended and the weather could not have been more perfect. We had a cook out Sunday night and a bon fire where we sat around singing songs with Dirk Ten Haaf strumming his guitar. The morning of the keuring started out chilly but quickly warmed up as we all enjoyed the sunshine.

Our keuring saw two new ster horses- a lovely three year old mare Rachel P (Thorben 466 x Onne 376) owned by Klaas and Mares Vanderploeg & Family and a powerfully build four-year-old stallion Notus (Hessel 480 x Goffert 369) owned by Beth Stone.

The champion fillies are owned by Lori Brock of Majestic Friesians. Champion Boutique and Reserve Champion Bling were both sired by Ulbran 502 Sport AAA.

Champion of the two-year-olds was Temptress of Majestic Friesians (Hessel 480 Sport x Lammert 206) owned by Holly Stellitano who came all the way from New York to bring her mare to the inspection.

Kasandra Barrow's beautiful mare Daenerys Van Scarpa (Norbert 444 Sport Pref x Teuns 332 Sport Pref) was made Reserve Champion of the mares. Earlier in the day, she was driven by Wim Cazemier for a 77.5 on her driving IBOP.

After Stephanie Lien D'Urso's Ster Sport mare Afke fan Bangazathe (Jehannes 484 Sport Elite AAA x Haitse 425 Sport Elite) was made Champion Mare and Champion of the Day, she was given the option of having Afke reviewed again by the judges to determine if she should be made kroon. Without missing a beat, Stephanie said yes and Afke was brought into the ring one more time. The judges took little time deciding to give Afke her kroon predicate to the cheers of the crowd and the grateful tears and smiles of her owner.

Congratulations to all who participated! We are already planning the Michigan 2025 keuring, looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to everyone who participated, showed up, and volunteered. I will do a personal shout out to everybody but my brain needs sleep. Also a huge shout out to the owners of Eise, Teun, and Ulbran..thank you thank you for bringing them and showing them off as I know it is alot but we are very grateful. I would say it was a fantastic keuring.

So exciting as the keuring is a week away!! With that said if you have not gotten me our form with coggins yet please do so asap. Also a reminder to bring your blue laminated card with you as the judges will not look at your horse without it.
