✨October 29th✨

Today we happily celebrated National Cat Day!😸
Cats are the PURRfect companions who fill our lives with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. Whether they’re curling up on your lap, or smacking things off your counter, cats make every day better!

Featured we have 3 of our very own cats that live at IVC, and the cats owned by some of our staff! Share a photo in the comments of the cat, or cats, in your life!

As cat owners let’s be honest with each other… they own the house, we just pay the bills.

⚠️WARNING⚠️

Flea prevention is still important! YES, these pests are still around even in COLDER WEATHER!

Fleas may be tiny, but they can cause BIG PROBLEMS for your pets… and YOU! These pesky parasites feed on your pets blood, leading to itching, discomfort, and serious health issues if left unchecked.

Here’s why flea prevention is essential:

- Prevents itching and allergies!
** Even flea bites can cause intense itching. Some pets can develop ✨flea allergy dermatitis✨ which is an allergic reaction to flea bites causing hair loss, scabs, and skin infections

-Will protect your home!
** Fleas don’t just live on your pets - they lay eggs in carpet, bedding, and furniture, once they infest your home, they’re tough to get rid of!

-Keeps everyone comfortable
** Preventing fleas means fewer bites, less scratching, and a happier, healthier pet (and family!)

Talk with us at your next vet visit to discuss the best flea prevention/ treatment!

Welcome to Indianola Veterinary Clinic, LLC

The Indianola Veterinary Clinic (IVC) was founded in 1952 by Dr. Harvey Arand, who worked primarily with livestock. The clinic has transitioned over the past 55+ years into a full-service mixed practice treating dogs, cats, livestock, horses, and more.

We welcome walk-in customers for routine vaccinations and emergency care. All surgeries and large animal work are by appointment. Spays and neuters are offered, as well as in-house blood chemistry analysis, x-rays, gas anesthesia, and dental ultrasonic cleaning. Boarding is available by appointment.

We offer 24-hour emergency services for large & small animals. If you are needing emergency services, please call 515-961-6201 to be connected to our on-call veterinarian.
