🐰💗 Sanctuary Sunday: Meet Molly 💗🐰

Molly spent six long months surviving outdoors before a kind Good Samaritan stepped in and brought her to safety 🌧️🌿 Now she’s discovered the joys of being a house rabbit — and she is loving it 🏡🐇

Molly is sweet, friendly, and completely people-oriented 💞 She adores attention, happily leans into pets 🤍, and never says no to a good treato 🥕✨ Her gentle nature makes her an absolute joy to be around.

Recently, Molly was diagnosed with cancer, which means she is no longer eligible for adoption. But Molly isn’t sad about that — because she landed exactly where she needed to be 💕 She now lives with a wonderful foster family who will ensure she is safe, comfortable, and deeply loved for the rest of her life.

Rabbits like Molly are why Sanctuary Sunday exists 🐰💖 Medical care, diagnostics, medications, and ongoing support are costly, but they allow rabbits facing serious illness to live with dignity, comfort, and joy.

🐱💕🐰 HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DAY! 🐰💕🐱

Today, we’re celebrating our feline friends and sharing a little secret: Cats and rabbits can sometimes become wonderful companions! 🥹❤️

We often think of cats and rabbits as natural enemies, but with the right personalities, careful introductions, and plenty of patience, they can learn to peacefully share a home and sometimes even form the sweetest friendships! 🐈‍⬛🐇💗

✨ DID YOU KNOW?

🐱💕🐰 Cats and rabbits can bond! Some enjoy lounging together, grooming one another, or simply relaxing side by side.

🏡 Personality matters! A calm, gentle cat and a confident rabbit may be a better match than animals with strong chasing or hunting behaviors.

👀 Slow introductions are essential! Always supervise interactions, provide safe spaces and escape routes for your rabbit, and never leave them alone together. Even a playful swat or bite can seriously injure a rabbit.

🐰 Rabbits are prey animals. Even a friendly cat can frighten a rabbit, so your bunny must always have secure, cat-free areas where they can feel safe.

💞 Companionship is important! Rabbits are intelligent, social animals who generally benefit from a compatible rabbit companion. A cat can sometimes be a peaceful addition to the family, but shouldn’t automatically replace rabbit-to-rabbit companionship.

🐾 The best friendships happen when we let animals set the pace. Never force interactions, and always respect each animal’s comfort and boundaries.

❤️ This National Cat Day, let’s celebrate every whiskered family member, whether they purr, binky, or do both!

And remember: cats and rabbits are lifelong commitments. Adopt through reputable rescues and give every companion animal the safe, enriching indoor home they deserve. 🏡✨

Meet Coco – A Curious, Creative Bunny Ready to Hop into Your Heart! 🖤🐇

Sweet Coco was one of five rabbits found wandering loose in a neighborhood in Merrillville, IN. Now safe and loved, she’s fully embraced her new life as a happy indoor house rabbit and settled in quickly.

Coco is social, curious, and full of personality! She adores people and absolutely loves to be petted. Her play area is her pride and joy, filled with toys—and her own custom-built cardboard playhouse that she bunstructed herself 🏗️📦 (a true little architect of fun!).

This lively girl thrives in a home with plenty of space to run, explore, and stay engaged. She’s affectionate, clever, and endlessly entertaining—just waiting for the right caregiver to appreciate her sparkle ✨

Black rabbits and slightly older rabbits are often overlooked, but Coco is proof that some of the most loving, fun companions are the ones waiting just a little longer to be seen 🖤🐰

🌷🐰 Sanctuary Rabbit Sunday: Meet Tulip 🐰🌷

This week, we’re sharing the story of one of our very special sanctuary residents… sweet Tulip. 💖

Hi, I’m Tulip! 🌸 I was found outside after being dumped, and kind people quickly realized something wasn’t right. I was very unsteady and would fall over easily. After lots of tests with an exotic vet, everything came back negative—except for arthritis. It’s believed my condition is neurological, but I don’t let that stop me from enjoying life. 💪🐰

I take yummy daily pain medication that helps me get around better 💊💕, and I’ve settled into indoor life as a cherished companion animal. I LOVE being around other rabbits 🐰💞, and my absolute favorite time of day is salad time—I even do little binkies for it! 🥬✨

I’ve also discovered that pets are actually pretty nice 🥹, and during playtime I enjoy digging in tunnels and chewing on cardboard. Oh—and sometimes I wear my hop-n-flop like a little turtle shell, which always makes my foster mom smile. 🐢💕

Tulip will remain in sanctuary care for the rest of her life due to her ongoing medical needs. She requires daily medication, careful monitoring, and lots of supportive care to keep her comfortable and happy. ❤️‍🩹
