It is with heavy hearts that we share that we recently said goodbye to sweet Keaton. 💔🐰

The past few months have been incredibly difficult for Indiana House Rabbit Society as we have mourned the loss of several beloved rabbits in our foster and sanctuary programs. Each loss is deeply felt, and each rabbit leaves behind a legacy of love. This week, we are remembering handsome Keaton. 🌈💙

Keaton came to us after being rescued from a large hoarding situation where 17 rabbits were living in filthy outdoor wire cages. Despite his difficult start in life, Keaton embraced his second chance with remarkable resilience and a playful spirit. 🏡✨

In foster care, he quickly began to discover the joys of being a loved house rabbit. While he could be a little shy at first, he blossomed into a fun-loving, energetic boy who kept everyone entertained. Keaton was famous for running the “Bunny 500” around the rabbit room, tossing toys with enthusiasm, and keeping a close eye on everything around him. 🐇💨🎾

Today, our hearts are especially with Keaton’s amazing foster family. We cannot thank them enough for opening their home and hearts to him, for celebrating his victories, supporting him through challenges, and loving him every step of the way. The bond between foster families and the rabbits in their care is something truly special, and we know this loss is especially painful. We offer them our deepest gratitude, sympathy, and condolences. 💖🏡🐰

Because of his foster family, Keaton experienced the life every rabbit deserves—a life filled with kindness, enrichment, affection, and belonging. That is a gift beyond measure.

As we remember Keaton, we are reminded of why our work matters. Rabbits rescued from neglect, hoarding situations, medical hardship, and abandonment depend on foster homes and community support to receive the care they deserve. 🐰👑 Bonded Buddies: Day 4 👑🐰
Meet Ariel & Belle — two sweet princesses with gentle hearts, curious spirits, and the most adorable dramatic flops. 💕✨

These bonded girls may be a little shy at first, especially around loud noises or new surroundings, but their curiosity always wins. Before long, they’re peeking out to investigate what’s going on and hopping over to see if you might have pets to offer. 🥹🐇

Once they feel safe, Ariel and Belle absolutely blossom. Both girls adore attention and love being involved in whatever their humans are doing. Ariel is especially known for climbing right onto you to supervise activities, while Belle proudly earns the title of “First to Flop,” stretching out dramatically the moment she feels comfortable. 😂💞

Together, these sisters are the perfect mix of soft-hearted sweetness, quiet bravery, and affectionate companionship. They would thrive in a calm, patient indoor home where they can continue building confidence and sharing their love with a family of their own. 🏡✨

🐰💕 Bonded Buddies: Day 3 💕🐰
Meet Feyre & Jesper — a deeply devoted pair whose story is full of resilience, love, and second chances. ✨

Feyre and Jesper are truly inseparable. Whether they’re snuggled together resting, exploring side-by-side, or greeting visitors together, these two bring each other endless comfort and companionship. 💞🐇🐇

Feyre, the white and brown beauty, has overcome so much in her journey. She was originally rescued as a stray and at the time was unable to hop. With loving care, patience, and determination, she made an incredible recovery — and now she happily explores, hops around, and even does adorable little binkies. 🥹✨ She does still experience some residual nerve firing from her previous injury and takes gabapentin twice daily, which she handles like an absolute pro. 💊💕

She’s affectionate, curious, and always excited when people stop by to visit. Feyre also has a playful mischievous side and loves digging in her litter box and other bunny-approved digging spots. 😂🐾

Jesper, the darker black bun, is a total people-lover who lights up whenever he gets attention. He and Feyre were originally adopted separately, but after meeting, they formed an incredibly close bond and became inseparable companions. 🖤🤍 Though they were later returned to foster care when their caregiver could no longer care for them, they’ve continued to thrive together through it all.

Jesper is affectionate, friendly, and always eager to meet new people. Since returning to foster care, he’s also been working hard on his health journey after being overweight, and he’s making amazing progress with proper diet, exercise, and care. 🥗✨

These two would thrive in a calm, loving indoor home that understands just how special bonded rabbits are. Their connection is beautiful to witness, and they deserve a family who will cherish them together forever. 🏡💖

🐰💕 Bonded Buddies: Day 2 💕🐰
Meet Petey & Razzle — two bonded brothers bringing nonstop entertainment, love, and bunny chaos wherever they go! ✨

These inseparable boys do everything together — eating, exploring, flopping side-by-side, and occasionally launching what their foster family lovingly calls “WWIII” inside their pen. 😂 One minute they’re chasing each other dramatically, the next they’re both frozen in confusion like nothing even happened. Classic bunny behavior. 💥🐇💨

Petey and Razzle are young, curious, and full of personality. During run time, they turn into brave little adventurers, zooming around, binkying through the room, and sometimes accidentally startling each other with surprise jumps and dashes. 🚀✨ Their antics keep everyone laughing!

Razzle is especially fond of pets, while Petey is still building confidence and learning that human hands mean comfort, love, and kindness. Together, they help each other feel safe and supported — one of the many beautiful things about bonded rabbits. 💞

These boys are looking for a loving indoor home with plenty of room to explore, lots of enrichment, and humans who appreciate the joy of bonded bunny pairs. It is with very heavy hearts that we share that we said goodbye to sweet Armand this week. 💔🐰

Armand’s journey brought him all the way to Indiana after escaping the devastating floods in Louisiana, and from the moment he arrived, he showed everyone what a gentle, loving, and resilient bunny he was. 🌧️➡️🏡✨

He was an easygoing boy who fully embraced house rabbit life. Armand loved being petted more than just about anything — truly, you could pet him all day and he would happily soak up every second of affection. 🥹💕 He adored his daily salads, munching endless hay, stretching out in warm sunbeams, and showing off joyful binkies during playtime. ☀️🥗🐇

Armand also faced ongoing GI health challenges, enduring countless veterinary visits and tests as doctors searched for answers. Through it all, he remained sweet and full of love, and his devoted foster family never stopped caring for him with patience, compassion, and dedication. 💖

We are deeply grateful to his incredible foster family and to everyone who loved and supported Armand throughout his journey. Because of them, he knew comfort, safety, kindness, and unconditional love every single day. 🌈✨

At Indiana House Rabbit Society, our sanctuary rabbits are often rabbits with serious medical conditions, chronic illnesses, disabilities, or advanced age who require extensive and ongoing care. While rabbits aren’t typically “cuddly” in the way people might expect, they show affection in their own special ways—like flopping beside you, softly nudging for attention, or simply choosing to relax nearby. That calm presence can be grounding, comforting, and deeply rewarding. 🐇✨

Caring for a rabbit can also add positive structure to daily life—feeding, cleaning, and spending time together creates routine and purpose, which can be especially helpful during challenging times.
