Today I showed up to the farm and was met with a blessing. 🙏🏽🤗

A group of women from our church day of service came out to help, and what unfolded was so much more than just getting work done. We pulled weeds, fed the chickens (yes, crushed eggshells and all—great for calcium), and spent time just being present in the space.

I haven’t been out there in weeks between a broken foot and working full-time, so to walk into that kind of energy—hands willing, hearts open—meant more than I can really put into words.

There were questions everywhere.
“What’s this plant?” — nettle.
“And this?” — thyme. 🌿
“Wait, strawberries?!” 🍓

At one point someone asked, “How do you know all of this?”
And I just smiled… experience, curiosity, and a whole lot of time in the dirt.

We talked about how the things we call “weeds” often carry their own kind of medicine. We laughed about the chickens (and yes, learned a few things there too 😅). There was curiosity, a little cock-a-doodling (iykyk 😜), learning, and even more connection.

Sometimes I feel like I’m just holding onto a bunch of random, useless knowledge… but days like today remind me it’s not useless at all. It’s meant to be shared.
To stand there—hands in the dirt, soul open, feet grounded—and teach, connect, and receive help from other women in a space that feels so deeply spiritual to me… that’s what this is all about. 🌿

Something special is starting to take shape over here 🌱

We’re getting the farm up and going, one step at a time. It’s early mornings, dirty hands, long days, and a whole lot of learning as we go—but it feels right. There’s just something about putting in the work and watching it come to life.

Seeds are going in, plans are coming together, and before long we’ll have fresh food coming straight from our ground to your table.

If you’ve been following along, thank you. If you’re new here, stick around—there’s a lot more growing ahead 🌿

Spring mornings are starting to feel like a gentle reminder that the world is waking up again. 🌷

There’s something so peaceful about opening the windows early, feeling that cool fresh air, and hearing all the birds singing like they’ve been waiting all winter for this moment. No alarms needed—just nature doing its thing.

The light feels softer, the air smells cleaner, and for a few quiet minutes in the morning everything just feels… hopeful.
Spring is on its way, and the birds are making sure we know it. 🐦🌿

I currently have a broken foot, but we are ready to begin the farm season!

Johnny will be regularly hosting a produce stand at our location in addition to attending vendor events and farmers markets!

We're proud to honor Mr. Millersville, who provided produce to the Meadows/Millersville area for 18 years!

🌽 Strengthening Indiana Agriculture Together

Today, ISDA Director Don Lamb met with Ted McKinney and several agricultural executives to discuss the future of Indiana farming and the opportunities ahead for Hoosier producers.

“Any time we can bring leaders together to talk about what’s working in Indiana agriculture and where we’re headed, it moves our entire industry forward,” said ISDA Director Don Lamb. “Collaboration like this helps ensure our farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities continue to thrive.”

ISDA appreciates the partnership and shared commitment to advancing Indiana agriculture and supporting the people who make it strong. 🌱
