We are deeply concerned by the recent revelations involving Blue Sky Puppies and want to clarify our role in this situation.
To be absolutely clear: we are not affiliated with Blue Sky Puppies. Our only involvement has been to provide medical treatment to puppies presented to us for care and to offer complimentary wellness exams for new pet owners who have recently adopted a puppy.
Our hospital does not issue Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVIs) for Blue Sky Puppies or any other commercial pet dealer. These health certificates are completed and signed by a separate veterinarian unaffiliated with our facility.
Blue Sky Puppies has brought us deceased puppies for cremation, as is common for pet owners or businesses. Our role in these situations is strictly to manage the respectful handling of remains. It is solely the responsibility of the puppy store to maintain and report accurate records to Animal Services. We were unaware that any required information had not been submitted until contacted by officials—at which point we fully cooperated and promptly provided all documentation in our possession.
We understand and share the public’s concern over the disturbing discrepancies in health certifications and the welfare of these animals. These matters are now under formal investigation, and we are committed to transparency and to assisting authorities in any way necessary.
As veterinary professionals, we take our ethical and legal responsibilities seriously. The health and welfare of animals entrusted to our care remain our highest priority. Until this investigation is over we will no longer be commenting.
