Hey everyone!

I'm reaching out because I need a little help from my amazing community. 😊 As some of you know, I’ve been working towards gaining more independence with new hand controls for my car and an electric hand bike for my wheelchair. These are essential for getting back out into the world independently, something I haven’t been able to do in years.

With these mobility aids, I'll be able to drive myself to appointments, enjoy simple outings like grabbing a coffee, and even restart my in-person dog training business! 🐾

I’ve set up a GoFundMe to help make this dream a reality. If you’re able, I’d truly appreciate any support—whether it’s through a donation or by simply sharing my story with others. Every little bit helps and brings me one step closer to greater independence and happiness.

Paws and Celebrate: Top 5 Tips for a Safe 4th of July

1. Contact your vet about medications FOR sound sensitivity

2. Keep your pets inside! Ensure they have updated ID TAGS & MICROCHIPS with YOUR current phone number and address.

3. Take this opportunity to TRAIN skip their dinner and feed your dog HIGH VALUE FOOD.

4. Additionally, enrichment toys, lick mats, Kongs, and puzzle toys may help distract your pet mentally.

5. Create a cozy SOUND SENSITIVE space for your pet, such as a crate, bedroom, roomy closet, or bathroom. Use a sound machine to help block outside noise.

In this week's podcast, I discuss husbandry, better known as grooming or proper handling. Our dogs need to be handled by our veterinarians and if you have a dog that needs to be groomed by groomers, most importantly they need to learn how to be handled by us. I am discussing cooperative handling which means I am teaching my dog to cooperate with me by using positive reinforcement without any forceful methods. Please sit back and enjoy!
