Day One is in the Books!

Man, I was so nervous about opening day on Monday! Turns out there was absolutely no need to worry. Everything went so well, and we had a great time!

In addition to seeing our regular farm customers on Monday, we also had a homeschool group come out for a little farm tour. They got to plant their own squash start to take home, visit the baby animals, and just play around the property like regular old farm kids. I absolutely love it! What a fun day we had. Thank you all for coming out!

Just a quick reminder that our next U-pick day is this Friday, June 19th!

As of right now, we are only open on Mondays and Fridays. However, please note that we will be closed on Friday, June 26th as we will be out of town for a family wedding.
Otherwise, mark your calendars for Mondays and Fridays every week! We can’t wait to see you this Friday.

U-Pick: Radishes ($2), Salad Turnips ($3), and maybe Baby Carrots ($3)
At the Stand: Cut greens ($5), Herbs ($2), Rhubarb ($5/lb), local meats, butter, kimchi, farm eggs, and Itty Bitty Farms pickles

Cherries and apricot pre-orders are still available on our website through the above link!

U-Pick Now Open Mondays and Fridays

Hey everyone! I can't believe opening day is almost here!

We are a bit behind schedule—Landon has been busy helping with the Farmers Market, and I’ve been feeling under the weather this week. But we love supporting the market and want to see it succeed, so sometimes you have to make sacrifices!
Regardless, we are moving forward with our opening day this Monday, June 15th! We ask for a little bit of grace as we finish getting everything together.

I checked the strawberry field today (or the "strawberry jungle," as I’m calling it right now due to the weeds!). While an early variety produced some berries last week, the bulk of our plants aren't fruiting heavily yet. I hate to underdeliver since I promised a mid-June harvest, but nature has its own timeline!

Here is what we will have ready for you this week

U-Pick Items:
Radishes: $2/bunch
Salad Turnips: $3/bunch
Baby Carrots (Maybe): $3/bunch

Farm Stand Items: (Not U-Pick)
Cut Greens: $5/bag
Herbs: $2/bunch
Rhubarb: $5/lb (Will become U-Pick later this season)

Local Goods:
Itty Bitty Farms pickles, pickled eggs, local meats, butter, kimchi, and farm eggs.

Coming Soon!
Strawberries: $4/lb
Cucumbers: $1 each
Tomatoes: $3/lb
Cherry Tomatoes: $4/lb

Further Down the Road:
Peppers, sweet corn, zucchini, summer squash, green beans, and okra.

Even if there isn't anything you want to pick quite yet, please stop by this Monday to check out the farm stand and say hello! We can't wait to see you.

FRUIT ORDERS OPEN NOW!

We are getting a large order of Idaho Fruit delivered soon and would like to get everyone's pre-orders in ASAP.

-Cherries are 18lb boxes for $42
-Apricots 16lb boxes for $35

U-Pick Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there an entrance fee?
A: No! We are a small, homestead-style farm and do not charge a fee to enter the property.

Q: What items are available for U-Pick?
A: Anything that is ripe and doesn’t require a blade to harvest is fair game! Availability will change as the season progresses, but if it's ready, you can pick it.

Q: Can we bring kids to the farm?
A: Absolutely—we encourage it! Our kids will be around and love having new friends to play with.

Q: What are your hours?
A: We are currently open Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 AM until one hour before sunset.

Q: Are there activities or attractions on the farm?
A: We focus on the actual farming experience rather than big commercial attractions, but we have plenty of fun spots for kids! Visitors can enjoy our swing set, playhouse, volleyball net, small putting green, and open space to run around. Plus, you can visit our baby rabbits and ducks! It’s a great place for kids to explore nature and get their hands dirty.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Cash, Venmo, cards, or checks are all accepted

Q: Do we need to bring our own containers?
A: You are welcome to bring your own containers or packages although we will have options available for everyone to use as well.

Q: Is there a restroom on-site?
A: Yes, there is a porta-potty available on site for visitors to use.

If you think of any other questions for me, please feel free to shoot me a text or call at 208-716-9145. We are really excited to see everyone out here on the farm.

What a coincidence. As we were walking around yesterday, I said to Landon, we should see if we have a picture of Kerrigan here as a baby. Last night as I was scrolling facebook, I was given this photo as a memory from exactly 12 years ago.
I couldn't resist doing a side by side comparison. So much has changed in this little girl's life but one thing that will always be the same: she loves Tautphaus Park.
We will be out there again for the Idaho Falls Night Market at the Zoo/Tautphaus Park on June 16th from 5-9. We cant wait to see you!

We Are So Excited to See You!

We have been thinking for a long time about when to finally open the U-pick and we have finally settled on a date. Monday June 15th will be our first official open day of 2026! Our schedule is as follows:

Open Hours U-Pick- Mondays AND Fridays (June-November)
9:00 am- hour before sunset
Other days and times available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
(literally just text me to see if we are home)

We WERE going to have the U-Pick open on Saturdays as well this year but after Landon's recent appointment to the IFFM board, we had to rethink our ability to be in multiple places at once. I hope our Mondays and Fridays schedule doesn't mess too much with anyone's plans.

The strawberries look like they are making good progress and will be ready to pick by then (though there might be limited availability for the first few weeks just to make sure they can keep up with demand)
We will also have other spring time veggies available like radishes, salad turnips, rhubarb, chives, and maybe a few cherry tomatoes.
As the season progresses, we will have much more to offer! My personal favorite, cucumbers, will be ready by late June and the peppers (who got horribly frozen last week) are making a good comeback.

As far as other farm news; we got the red potatoes planted, the russets are peeking out of the ground. The pumpkins sprouts are all up and almost ready to go into the ground. The peas are doing horribly and may need to be replanted. The okra looks fantastic (so exciting). The raspberries are actually doing so much better than I was expecting (although they probably won't be available for bulk picking). The summer squash and zucchini are all in the ground and doing well.
Phew, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Anyways, we are sure excited to welcome everyone out to our little farm. We have been working really hard to make the place something we can be proud of these past few months and even though there is still a long way to go, I feel like we have something special here and we can’t wait to share it with you.
LOVE,
Emily Knowles
