Our team had the honor of providing end-of-care for beloved K-9 Officer Max. This courageous partner served his handler and community with unwavering loyalty and dedication. Assisting in his peaceful passing was a solemn responsibility and a final act of compassion.

We extend our deepest condolences to Sgt. Miller and his family, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, and all who served alongside Max. Thank you for trusting our hospital with his care. He will never be forgotten.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of K-9 Max.

K-9 Max proudly served the people of Kanawha County for many years alongside his handler, Sgt. J. L. Miller. His loyalty, dedication, and service left a lasting impact on our agency and the community he protected. K-9 Max retired from duty on August 25, 2023.

Please keep Sgt. Miller and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Santa and Mrs. Claus can't wait to see all the furry faces and wet noses tomorrow! No appointment? No worries—just swing by! We’ll be at the clinic (2120 Mount Vernon Rd.) from 8:00am–12:00pm.

There are all sorts of gifts, stocking stuffers, and snacks to be had!. Be sure to bring cash or checks since we won't be able to process credit cards. But Venmo, PayPal, and CashApp are welcome too!
