🆘🆘 Melanie and her sister are a bonded pair at the acadia shelter. Her sister was rescued and Melanie is now scheduled to be euthanized! No more extensions will be given! We would love to help Melanie but she needs sponsorship! We are over extended ans try to help as many as we can!

Noelle is a sweet 2-year-old terrier mix who came to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, NY overnight as a stray, and no one ever came to reclaim her. Upon arriving here, she was quite nervous and would go to the other side of her kennel when people would walk past, however, she is slowly starting to open up and starting to love attention! Noelle is playful and dainty with toys and loves to have fun but is equally content relaxing with her people. She knows "Sit" and "Paw" and walks excellently on a leash. Noelle would thrive in a home with kids 8+ and is ready to find a loving family to call her own.

Foster mom update:
Soccer anyone? Stella is waiting for her new home and hoping there will be lots of balls there. Her favorite thing in the world is for someone to throw or kick a ball for her. She is doing great here, but ready for her forever home. Two year old Stella is 80 lbs, well-trained and well mannered with a cute Winnie the Pooh face. Her dad was a Cane Corso and her mom was a Pittie. A home with a fenced yard would be best for Stella, she would be fine as an only dog, or with a mellow male playmate. Stella was very much loved and well cared for, but her owner lost his living situation and could not keep her.

We met rooster in Lousiana… we can’t tell you how amazing this dog is! Stunning, sweet, loves dogs, cats, 50 lbs of love. Approx 2-3 and an all around amazing dog. QUEENIE……. Rescued from Louisiana during the hurricane, she was chained up outside (with other dogs) while her family evacuated, she would have drowned! She came to NY to find a loving owner who suddenly passed away. Once again, Queenie is lost in the world and homeless She is now back with LIPS at 7 years old. She needs a foster/adopter!
