With regret, I inform you of the passing of Antoinetta Carnevale.

(Family written obituary) Antonietta Carnevale, beloved wife, sister, mother, and aunt passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on August 2, 2025.

Antonietta Meneghini was born on January 10, 1936 in the Northern Italian town of Verona. It was here that she met her soon to be husband, Anthony Carnevale, while he was stationed in Verona serving as a private in the United States Army. Being only 25 years old, she courageously left her beloved home, family and friends to move to Bronx, NY where she had 2 daughters and was married 57 years.

Once in New York, Antonietta worked tirelessly as a full-time seamstress making high end dresses while also being a wonderful mom. She also used those talents to make custom dresses for her daughters, nieces and herself. She brought joy to so many with her amazing Italian meals, especially her 10-layer lasagna with homemade paper thin pasta. She was obsessive about keeping her house immaculately clean and enjoyed her garden.

She innately put others first and rarely focused on herself. She sacrificed without hesitation when it came to her daughters. With limited financial means, she provided all they needed and more, including Catholic school educations.

With her calm beauty and nurturing nature, she had many life-long friends and easily connected with strangers through her warm smile. She will be missed by this earth and by her family and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Hospital.

A Wake will be held on Tuesday (8/5) from 3-7pm at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home.

My deepest condolences to the family. May Antonietta Rest in Peace.

With regret, I inform you of the passing of Fort Apache, The Bronx author, Thomas John Walker on July 30, 2025.

(Family written obituary) Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend to so many.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Thomas dedicated his life to his family and serving the city with integrity and commitment. He proudly served 22 years with the New York City Police Department, rising up the ranks to Captain. Thomas was a larger-than-life character who accomplished so much in his life and did so with passion and enthusiasm. He is an accomplished author, best known for his New York Times bestseller, Fort Apache. The book is an iconic account of New York’s 41st Precinct in the 1970’s and a love letter to all the extraordinary police officers who worked in the most violent precinct in the city at that time. His respect for the police and the work they do never wavered and remained paramount in his life. He has been described as a great leader and a “cop’s cop” by those who worked with him. In addition, Thomas earned a degree in Physics and a Master of Public Administration from City College.

Thomas loved his family, the NYPD, the Yankees and a cold Pepsi. He enjoyed laughter and breaking out into song. One of his favorites was “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra. He thought it really summed up the “ups and downs” of life and no matter what happened you could always pick yourself up and “get back in the game”.

Thomas’s legacy will live on forever!

The funeral arrangements are as follows: the Wake will be held on Sunday (8/3) from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home; and the Funeral Mass will be held on Monday (8/4) at 11am at St. Michael's Church (Co-op City).

My deepest condolences to the family. May Tom Rest in Peace. Thank you for your Service to the City.

With regret, I inform you of the sudden passing of Keith Lovinggood.

(Family written obituary) “If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever.”

It is with shattered hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Keith Vincent Lovinggood, a devoted husband, loving brother, cherished friend, and proud community member. Keith passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 on July 21, 2025, in New York, NY, while doing something he truly loved—baking pies at a workshop surrounded by joy and warmth. His passing came without warning and has left all who knew him in shock and disbelief.

Born on October 10, 1960, in the Bronx, Keith lived there for most of his life before moving to Queens, where he spent the past three years. Throughout his life, Keith brought laughter, love, and sweetness—both figuratively and literally—into every room he entered.

Keith was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of soul: warm, witty, generous, and full of light. With his signature “wise guy” charm, he made fast friends wherever he went. He was the kind of man who remembered your birthday, showed up when it counted, and never showed up empty-handed—often bearing one of his famous pies or baked treats.

He was the most loving husband one could ever ask for, sharing a deep and joyful bond with his wife Sabina. As a brother, he was loyal and supportive, always there for Anthony and Kim, whom he adored. His thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and kind heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered.

Keith’s sudden departure has sent a wave of grief throughout his family and community. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and the kind of warmth that stays with you forever. He will be missed beyond measure.

Keith is survived by his loving wife Sabina, his brother Anthony, and his sister Kim. He also leaves behind countless friends, neighbors, and loved ones who were blessed to have known him.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Keith’s life will be held on Monday, July 28th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home.

My condolences to the family. May Keith Rest in Peace.

With regret, I inform you of the untimely passing of Andrew Law.

(Family written Obituary) Andrew William Law passed away on June 16th after a long illness.

Andrew was the youngest of six children born to the late Donald and Mary Law. Along with his siblings Donnie, Susan, Kathryn, Michael and Mary, Andrew grew up in Throggs Neck surrounded by his grandparents, many aunts and uncles, a plethora of cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Like several other family members, Andrew was a member of Local Union 806 and worked for the New York City Department of Transportation as a bridge painter.

Andrew enjoyed traveling and was an avid military history fan. His favorite pastime was participating in Revolutionary War reenactments. He enjoyed music and concerts. Over the years he would attend various Scottish Highland Games up and down the East Coast with his friends and family. He used each Game to add to his already huge collection of Viking-age swords and helmets.

Andrew had an interesting sense of humor. He was not shy about wearing a kilt…which was okay until someone asked what he was wearing under it. His nieces and nephews learned at a young age what a we**ie was. His favorite 5 star restaurant was Ho***rs. His favorite catch phrase was “You're ugly and your momma dresses you funny”. Andrew was generous to a fault when it came to the people he loved and cared about.

Besides his parents Andrew was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Law-White, his brother Donald and sister-in-law Maria, as well as, his wife Tanyia. Andrew is survived by three of his siblings: Susan Law-Sbano, Michael and Mary Jackson, and his in-laws Gerri Law and Bobby Jackson. Additionally, Andrew had a total of 14 nieces and nephews, 13 grand nieces and nephews, and 1 great nephew.

The funeral arrangements are as follows: the Wake will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home; and the Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Frances de Chantal.

My deepest condolences to the family. May Andrew Rest in Peace
