Our wish list Wednesday is going to be a little different this week! This week Strogi is asking for help finding his forever home. Strogi is our longest resident at the shelter. He's been there for a total of 357 days. Although he is a little timid at times it does not take him long to warm up to you and to everybody and your family. Strogi is good with kids, cats and other dogs. Strogie has a personality that can just make you laugh. He is a goofy boy and loves to play. He also doesn't mind being close and snuggling on the couch. A nice way to keep warm this winter. Strogi is 3 years old and 42 pounds. He is up to date on vaccines and neutered, but is heartworm positive and will need treatment.

If you or someone you know is looking for a new companion, give strogi a shot he won't disappoint!

Attention!!

We have vouchers available for dog spay and neuter with Huntingdon Animal Clinic.

There is availability from now through the end of the year and these will be sold on a first come, first served basis. No holds.

No residency or income restrictions!

You must have exact change for $60 per voucher or pay with card. You come to us at CCHS (21822 Hwy 22 in McKenzie) between 8-12 Tues-Sat to purchase these.

$60 covers the cost of the surgery. All surgeries are scheduled with us for Mondays only. It is recommended that animals be at least 4 months old.

No need to bring your dog when you purchase the voucher. Share! Share! Share!

**We will NOT have any available appointments in January and February. **

If you choose to have other services or medications for your dog at the time of surgery, you will need to pay the clinic directly.

An unknown respiratory illness is affecting dogs across the United States. 🐶🦠

Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, eye and nasal discharge, lethargy, decreased appetite. These symptoms can last weeks! If your dog is experiencing any of these symptoms please isolate them and call us to make an appointment. 🩺📞

Below are some recommendations to help reduce the risks of canine respiratory exposure and illness.

We recommend… ✅
-Making sure your pet is up to date on all vaccines including Bordetella and Canine Influenza. 💉
-When possible, avoid situations dogs are in close contact (dog parks, dog daycare, boarding, grooming).
-Ask your groomer and boarding facilities if they require all pets be up to date on all vaccinations.

If you’re missing a pet in Humboldt or anywhere in Gibson County, make sure to check the Gibson County Pound as soon as possible! They handle animal pickups for the entire county, so even if your pet wasn’t taken to your local shelter, there’s a chance it was picked up by the county pound instead.
