On Saturday I received a text from a neighbor about a dog just laying on their porch. He looked injured so I immediately ran over and scanned him for a chip but no microchip. He didn’t move much and clearly had mange. He was very hot and dehydrated so I knew I had to act fast. I brought him over to the barn and got him water and put him directly in front of an AC fan. We have been looking for his owners in case he escaped a while ago but no one has come forward. With all the medical intakes lately we are desperately needing to recoup our medical funds. This guy is so sweet and just wants to be loved. We are open to name suggestions for him if you have any.

Thank you Cowboy Feed Store for staying open late for us to get him some medicine and donating food to him! Y’all are the BEST!

You can donate here or on Venmo make sure it’s the one under the verified charities tab.

Meet our newest intakes. They have quite the list of medical problems so here is what we are currently dealing with.
Both dogs are heartworm positive and need to be spayed. They will be going in Wednesday for their spays and then we will start heartworm treatment.
We need to castrate the males to stop all the inbreeding that has been going on for years.
The oldest male goat is severely anemic and very underweight. The plan was to castrate him yesterday but the vet was afraid that would kill him with his current state. We are monitoring him for 2 weeks to make sure he doesn’t decline further, then we will reevaluate him.
One of the baby boys is a cryptorchid so he will need to have surgery to open his abdomen to castrate him.
One female goat has a fungal infection on her head we will need to treat topically. Another baby has infections on her hooves. They are separating at the top. She was given an antibiotic shot and we will monitor her closely.
All the goats were vaccinated and dewormed and we hope they continue to improve.
These animals have had no human interaction or vet care for years. Our main goal right now is to just get them healthy.
No donation is too small. If you are unable to donate every like, comment, or share helps us reach more people.
All donations are tax deductible.

Yesterday we had a different intake at the ranch. Meet Gimpy, his owners passed away and the family reached out to see if we could take him for whatever time he has left. He is 33 years old and hasn’t had his hooves done or any medical for a while since his owners were sick. We have a farrier coming today to work on his hooves which will probably take a few times to get them corrected. We are working on getting a mobile vet out to the ranch since he does not like trailers and panics. He loves attention and thinks he belongs in a lap. He fits right in here and hangs out with the goats. He will live out the rest of his life with us on the ranch.

HUGE thank you to Cowboy Feed Store for opening on a Sunday so we could come get everything we needed for him on such short notice. They are always willing to help with our emergency intakes as well as all our regular needs. If you are local, you should definitely check them out!

Jules gets his freedom flight to today! When we first got him we thought we may have been too late and he wasn’t going to make it. He showed he is a fighter and is THRIVING now. He has a foster waiting for him in Utah and he will be available for adoption soon.

Meet Flopsy. This little girl was seen roaming a neighborhood for about a week but no one could catch her. She was clearly out on her own for a long time. She was finally caught last night and she didn’t want to put weight on her back leg. We agreed to take her in and get her the medical attention she desperately needed. The vet had to sedate her to shave all her matted hair off. She is full of worms and was covered in fleas. They did find a small fracture on the left side of her pelvis. They think she will heal up just fine with cage rest for a couple weeks. We have started her on dewormer and antibiotics as well as all her vaccines. The vet wants to wait to spay her due to the amount of worms she has and give her time to gain a little weight. We are still waiting on the results of her bloodwork to come back to make sure nothing else is going on. Her bad days are behind her and we look forward to watching her improve every day.
