Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue YGRR is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization rescuing Golden Retrievers and Golden-Hearted dogs.

While in our care we provide individualized enrichment, medical care, and training. Our goal is to match every dog to their forever family. Our page highlights previously adopted Goldens from our program, and occasionally current residents and upcoming events It's our goal to help local dogs of any age find loving families in New England. We excel in re-homing senior Goldens and dogs of any age wh

o have orthopedic needs. All our Goldens live at our kennel/headquarters 'Riverview' until they are adopted.

Don’t Forget!

Our next Mix and Mingle is happening this Saturday, June 21st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Yankee!

Bean Update! 💛🐾We got the call today — Bean has eaten! She is also starting to perk up! Her blood levels are returning to normal, and her veterinary team believes she’s officially out of the woods! 🙌

Tomorrow, Bean will be heading into foster care, where she’ll be surrounded by love and getting all the care she needs 24/7 to continue healing.

She still has a lot of recovery to go, and it's important that things continue going in this direction. Her body is fragile and susceptible. After spending 10's of thousands of dollars on this little lady, we are SO happy to say that she officially gets her second chance!

BEAN UPDATE INCOMING
Bean is still in 24-hour critical care, and the veterinary team is working around the clock to help her pull through. She received a plasma transfusion and continues to be closely monitored.

Right now, she’s not quite back to her usual lab self and still hasn’t eaten. Her blood work remains borderline, and we’re watching her closely.

We’re doing absolutely everything we can to support her—now we’re just waiting and hoping that, with enough help, her body will begin to respond and she’ll start to perk up soon.

Meet Bean - and help us save her life!

Bean is a goofy and loving Chocolate Lab who has just found herself in the fight for her life. After ingesting a ball, Bean required emergency abdominal surgery to remove the blockage. Just as we thought she was on the road to recovery, Bean took a turn for the worse.

Bean began leaking intestinal fluid into her abdomen, an extremely dangerous and life-threatening complication. She was rushed back in for a second surgery, where Vets had to remove a portion of her intestine. She is now in the most critical 48-hour period post-surgery, where Vets are doing everything they can to prevent systemic sepsis and stabilize her.

Bean has now been in intensive care for five days, under the close watch of specialists who are working around the clock to save her. Her medical costs are quickly rising, but we are committed to doing all we can to give this young dog the happy future she deserves. Despite this trauma, Bean's happy personality is still shining through, searching for love and pets.

So, we are reaching out to our incredible community to ask for help. Your donation, no matter the size, will help provide Bean with the care she desperately needs; her lifesaving surgeries, hospitalization, and care.

At YGRR we never walk away from a dog like Bean; dogs with expensive medical care that have nowhere else to go, but we are only able to do this with the support we get from you all - our loving community.
