Some of these images are tough to look at, so scroll carefully šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

Little Possum is just 8 weeks old and if he had words, what a tale heā€™d tell. Found all alone in a local forest, with nothing but a cardboard box and a badly injured tail, a Good Samaritan came to his rescue. We knew immediately we had to help this sweet baby- who just keeps on purring in spite of it all šŸ˜­

This week, Possum will undergo surgery to remove his degloved tail: the first step towards a happy new life that weā€™re certain will be a whole lot gentler and kinder than his previous one. Itā€™s an expensive procedure, but his prognosis is excellent and the world (and his loving foster) await him with open hearts šŸ’ž

The best friends in our lives are those who help us be a little bit braver when life is a bit too much to bear. They hold our hand (or paw!) when weā€™re a little scared, or cheer us up when weā€™re feeling grouchy ā¤ļø

Weā€™re gonna be completely honest here: our blue-eyed Vivi is OFTEN pretty grouchy šŸ¤£ Her RBF is of epic proportions, as is her ability to say ā€œkid, get the hell off my lawn!ā€ with the mere flash of that icy stare, lest you get swatted by one of those giant murder mitts. Perhaps thatā€™s why this absolutely GORGEOUS 3 year old lady has resided at the shelter since March šŸ˜¢

But Vivi certainly isnā€™t alone in this world- she has a buddy in sweet, loving Negi. When Vivi does hisses, Negi givesā€¦.kisses šŸ¤£Opposites, as they say, attract. Yin and Yan, Sweet and Spicy, Warm and Chilly. Will super social Negi ever convince Vivi that not all humans should be swatted off the table like yesterdayā€™s unattended juice glass? Maybe, maybe notā€¦but their friendship will surely warm your heartā€¦not to mention the silly spectacle of two chubby girls trying to fit into the smallest spaces together šŸ¤£

Late spring is in full swing and that means more spring kittens and young cats arrivingā€¦and often. Their stories are sometimes sad ones, but we like to take the advice of our feline friends and keep our whiskers pointed forward ā¤ļø

Beautiful Freda, the little calico, was found by a Dumpster outside a Panera Bread, a wee baby dragging two wounded legs behind her, and painfully thin. A true survivor, sheā€™s blossomed into a vivacious 1 year old cat with plenty of help from our vet crew. Weā€™re happy to say Freda can now run and play- in fact, today youā€™d never know this loving, snuggly beauty once faced such dire circumstances aside from her ā€œperfectly imperfectā€(though healed) little legs.

Fredaā€™s best buddy is little black Desiree- her ā€œsister from another mister.ā€ Brought together by their unfortunate circumstances, these two perhaps arenā€™t genuinely bonded, but do they love another? YES! Young Desiree has been known to enter the room like sheā€™s the Queen, and follow her humans around like a tiny, ebony puppy. A social butterfly, Desiree helps Frida feel safer in the world: weā€™d love to see them go home together ā¤ļøšŸ¾

The world can be a scary and uncertain place, but ya know what can help? A kitten! Yes, but hear hear us out: how about TWO kittens? šŸ¾

Double up on laughs, smiles, biscuits, zoomies, toe beans, and purrs: Sunni and Milo are absolutely the CUTEST pair of bonded babies in the ENTIRE universe (yeah, yeah, okayā€¦we might be a wee bit biased šŸ¤£ But seriouslyā€¦LOOK at those faces šŸ„¹)

Milo and his sister, Sunni, are 3 month old siblings who came in with their litter mates after their owner could no longer take care of them. Sunni is a bit shyer than her more outgoing brother, but feels more confident in his presence. Both love to play, being petted, snuggling with each other and we promise, with humans too once theyā€™ve settled in. We could seriously watch these two play for hoursā€¦way more entertaining than reality TV šŸ¤£ (video in comments.)
