Finca Tres Robles nurtures a culture of health in Houston’s East End to renew the bond between people, place and food. We have developed our farm as essential health infrastructure to upend systemic inequalities at the neighborhood level. We invest in small solutions as the pathway to realizing larger structural change. Finca Tres Robles was started in 2014 on a 1.25 acre lot on Houston’s East Sid

e just 4 miles from Houston’s City Hall where we have been growing organic herbs, fruits, and vegetables to be sold to families and individuals directly from our farm. While this produce will not only be convenient, healthy and accessible to individuals in the area, we are working to make it affordable to the immediate 2nd Ward community as a way to begin to challenge the food system of the neighborhood, to build relationships, and to keep money here in our immediate, local economy. Finca Tres Robles is operated by Small Places, a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating community health through urban farming, and is the first urban farm in our vision of a network of community farms in Houston.

Stop by the store today or Saturday! We’ve got a few new items in stock from our wonderful farm partners. As the weather begins to change, you’ll notice the produce we carry changes, too. This time of year we are lucky to have an overlap between summer squash and winter squash, and we’ve got some pretty cute pumpkins in stock!

We are thrilled to offer a Zumba class tailored specifically for older adults during their Senior Mornings gathering time. We’ll provide the water and snacks while our instructor goes through a fun Zumba class paced perfectly for our adults! Attendees will each get a Zumba fitness towel. 🧑🏽‍🍳A Hispanic Heritage Month Lunch and Cooking Class: There will be four groups cooking various meals such as arepas, pupusas, chimichurri, and more! Everyone will get to try all the dishes!
🧘🏾Yoga and Meditation with Marisol under the Pavilion! All experience levels are welcome. Bring your own mat or towel, and experience an hour of relaxation.

☕️ 🥐 Senior Mornings is this Wednesday from 9-11 am! Come enjoy your morning coffee with new and familiar friends while enjoying the beauty of the farm. We love having elders from the East End spend time here with us, and we are grateful to provide this space for you!

☕️ 🥐 ¡Mañanas para Mayores son este miércoles de 9 a 11 a. m.! Ven a disfrutar de tu café matutino con amigos nuevos y conocidos mientras admiras la belleza de la granja. It’s been a busy Saturday! 💃🏻We had an amazing time at the Fiestas Patrias parade this morning. We danced through the streets of downtown as we handed out seed packets and invited our fellow Houstonians to visit the farm!

We also had an incredible volunteer day at the farm, with 30 volunteers showing up to help us mulch, compost and w**d the fields! 👩🏽‍🌾🪏We couldn’t do this work without our community. Thank you for showing up and getting your hands dirty with us!

¡Ha sido un sábado muy ajetreado! Nos lo pasamos genial en el desfile de las Fiestas Patrias esta mañana. Bailamos por el centro mientras repartíamos paquetes de semillas e invitábamos a nuestros compatriotas houstonianos a visitar la granja.

También tuvimos un día de voluntariado increíble en la granja, con 30 voluntarios que vinieron a ayudarnos con el mantillo, el compostaje y la deshierba. No podríamos hacer este trabajo sin nuestra comunidad. ¡Gracias por venir y apoyarnos!

Meet our new Farm Manager, Brandon Nehilla!🧑🏾‍🌾👋🏼
Brandon supports and mentors our farm apprentices, in addition to building out production on the new farm. He’s not just a farmer though! He’s a poet, musician, break dancer, chef and man of many talents. Next time you’re at the farm, come say hello!
