How can we not find one person in Houston to foster for a few weeks to save her???

🚨 UPDATE — WE CAN SAVE AUGUSTUS, BUT WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY NOW 🚨

Yesterday, we asked for help for this painfully skinny German Shepherd girl who was found wandering as a stray in Houston.

Today, we have some hope. ❤️

Our rescue partner Pooch Manor in Pennsylvania is ready to take Augustus. She has somewhere to go. She has a chance at a completely different life.

But we have to get her ready first.

Look at this girl. 💔 She is so thin. Somewhere along the way, she was failed badly enough that she ended up wandering the streets trying to survive on her own.

And yet she is still sweet. Still friendly. Still trusting.

We cannot let her go back to the streets.

🐾 WE NEED TWO THINGS TO SAVE AUGUSTUS:

🏡 A SHORT-TERM HOUSTON FOSTER — 4 TO 6 WEEKS

Augustus needs a safe place to land while we get her healthy and ready to travel. Food, supplies and veterinary care will be provided. We just need someone willing to give this skinny girl a soft bed, regular meals and a safe place to recover.

💰 WE NEED TO RAISE $600

Before Augustus can leave for Pennsylvania, she needs to be spayed and treated for heartworms, along with the veterinary care necessary to prepare her for transport.

$600 and one Houston foster.

That is what stands between this dog and the life waiting for her.

We have the rescue partner.

We have a place for her to go.

We have people ready to help coordinate everything.

Now we need our community to come together and help us finish this.

There’s nothing “special” about him.

He’s not a tiny Frenchie.
He’s not a fluffy little puppy.
He doesn’t have some unusual story that’s going to make thousands of people stop scrolling.

He’s just a big black dog.

And for more than a year, he’s been waiting.

Waiting outside in the Texas heat. Waiting through the cold and the rain. Waiting to see if someone will remember to bring him food and water that day.

He showed up in this community last summer and never left.

Some of the people who live there feed him. They give him water. They pet him when they see him. And he is grateful for every bit of attention he gets.

But when everyone goes back inside, he stays outside.

Alone.

He has no air conditioning when the Texas heat is unbearable. No warm bed when it’s cold. No person opening a door and saying, “Come on, buddy. You’re home.”

And somehow he is still friendly. Still gentle. Still looking for affection from the same humans who have passed him by for more than a year.

Animal control won’t take him because he isn’t aggressive.

Apparently being homeless, lonely and forgotten isn’t enough.

So here he sits.

Maybe he isn’t the dog everyone fights over.

But somewhere out there has to be one person who looks at this ordinary black dog and sees somebody worth saving.

We need a committed foster so we can help him.

Please don’t make him spend another season sitting outside waiting for someone to choose him.

Safe with Rescue!!!

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED FOR THE TINIEST LITTLE GUY! 🚨

📍Houston TX

This little guy showed up at an 83-year-old woman’s home on Tuesday, and she needs help finding somewhere safe for him to go.

Someone went out to meet him, and he is seriously tiny — around 10 pounds or less! He looks like a little Chiweenie-type pup and is young, happy, playful and absolutely adorable.

And did we mention TINY? 😂

He’s basically a pocket-sized dog. He won’t take up much room on your couch, in your house, or probably even in your laundry basket.

We are looking for a committed foster who can keep him safe while he waits for his forever home.

King Draco is a 3-year-old, 55-pound English Bulldog with very simple requirements for his future kingdom:
