Today, Mike is taking Callie back to the vet… and unfortunately, this is something we know all too well with our senior dogs. 💔
Callie has been dealing with chronic skin issues, recurring ear infections, and ongoing eye problems. She needs continued medical care, and as a senior dog, that care often becomes more frequent and more expensive.
The heartbreaking reality of rescue is this:
Senior dogs are the ones most often overlooked.
While puppies and younger dogs may find homes quickly, senior dogs can wait years… and many never get adopted at all.
But while they wait, their medical needs don’t stop.
Right now, we have several senior dogs in our care, and with age often comes chronic conditions, medications, repeat vet visits, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment.
We could focus only on the easy dogs. The young dogs. The highly adoptable dogs.
But that would mean turning our backs on dogs like Callie.
And we won’t do that.
Today we’re asking for help supporting Callie and the other senior dogs who rely on us every single day. They may be overlooked by adopters… but we refuse to let them be forgotten.
Please help us continue giving them the care they deserve. 🐾
