Brachycephalic breeds, or flat nose dogs like Frenchies, Boston terriers, and Pugs can face extra risks when the temperatures rise.

Because of their short noses and narrowed airways, these types of dogs can't cool themselves efficiently through panting, making them more vulnerable to heatstroke. Stay extra vigilant and look for signs of overheating, including heavy panting, drooling, wobbliness, or vomiting.

Fireworks aren't fun for everyone! Here are a few tips to help your pets stay calm and safe this holiday:

🐾 Keep all pets inside! Even outdoor-loving pets should be kept safely inside during fireworks.
🐾 Use a quiet room, white noise, and familiar bedding or toys to create a calming space.
🐾 Update ID & microchip info, more pets go missing during 4th of July than any other time of the year.
🐾 Holiday food and drinks can be harmful. Keep human treats up and away from your pets!
🐾 Ask about calming meds, we’re here to help if your pet needs extra support.
