How do I find out which shelter my town contracts with?

This allows our committee to review your application, and if approved, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit all of our adoptable cats and dogs. You can call your town office to find out which shelter your town contracts with. Currently, our shelter services the following towns: Amity, Dyer Brook, Glenwood, Hammond, Haynesville, Hersey, Houlton, Linneus, Littleton, Macwahoc, Monticello, Moro, New Limerick, Orient, Patten, Reed Plt, and Weston.

When we scanned for a microchip this cat has a chip. We know the name of the cat and the owner who registered the chip but the strange thing is it belongs to someone in Mississippi.

This is kinda confusing because it was brought by someone living in Monticello.

Please reach out to us if this cat is yours and caught a ride to Maine or was stolen, it wants to go home‼️

Happy Adoption Day, Winston! 🐾❤️

Winston has gone to a wonderful home where he can run, play, and enjoy life with his new brother Miles. We couldn't be happier for this sweet boy as he begins the next chapter of his journey.

Thank you to his adopter for opening their hearts and giving him the loving home he deserves. We know he will be spoiled with love, adventures, and plenty of playtime.

Congratulations, Winston! We will miss you (though only here a shirt time) but seeing you find your forever family is exactly why we do what we do. Have an amazing life with your new brother and family! 🏡🐕💕

These little cuties!! Had them at the shelter today for visit. These are Minnies babies, Mastiff/Pitt mixes. We have 12 approved applications for them BUT you never know, things happen, people change their minds. So a couple extra applications wouldn't hurt anything. 🤗

Mosey a 4 year old shepherd mix. Has been here since last July 💔. He is not perfect, but there has to be someone out there to fit his criteria. No young kids, as they scare him. No cats or other dogs. He doesn't really get along with others, so only pet is a must. He is super smart, loves belly rubs, very motivated to please. If you could just give this guy a chance 🙏. There has to be someone out there to give him his second chance at life.

✨💜 Five of our twelve adorable puppies enjoyed some outdoor time today, taking in the fresh air and exploring their surroundings. 🐾❤️

It’s hard to believe these little ones are already six weeks old! In just a few short weeks, they’ll be leaving for their forever homes and starting exciting new adventures with their new families.

We can’t thank their foster mom enough for giving them such an amazing start in life. From helping their mama through the birth, to teaching them early manners, confidence, and social skills, she has poured her heart into raising these puppies, loosing sleep with late nights and early mornings. They are thriving because of the love and dedication she has given them every single day.

For now, we’re soaking up every puppy cuddle and playful moment before they spread their wings and head home. 🥰🐶

WE CAUGHT HER! ❤️🐾

After days of running, countless sightings, and an incredible community effort, this sweet girl is finally safe!

We want to thank everyone who helped make this possible. The process worked because people listened, stayed patient, and most importantly, called in sightings instead of chasing her. Every sighting helped us track her movements and put a plan together to bring her to safety.

The amount of people who stepped up to help is honestly incredible. From sharing posts, watching for her, making phone calls, helping search, checking the trap all hours, and supporting the trapping efforts, it truly took a village to catch her safely.

We know it wasn't always easy to resist the urge to approach or chase her, but your understanding and cooperation made all the difference. Because everyone worked together, she is now safe and no longer running scared.

Thank you to every single person who played a part in bringing her home. We couldn't have done it without this amazing community. ❤️
