Today is the first day of breast cancer awareness month. I want to touch base for just a second. Pink ribbons don’t cure cancer. Research will. Please, if you choose to donate to breast cancer awareness, know exactly where your money is going! Selfishly I’ll recommend Metavivor. 100% of your donation goes to stage 4 research, so that some day maybe there will be a cure for me!

Houlton Humane Society and Waiting Whiskers are teaming up for the next spay/neuter clinic for cats.

The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, November 26 & Sunday, the 27th, in Sherman at the Sherman fire station located at 20 Golden Ridge Rd. The number to call to set up an appointment is the 659-9823. Please leave a message with a good number to call you back—$110.00 for a female and $80.00 for a male. An exam and rabies vaccine is included with that fee. The vet accepts Bangor Humane Society vouchers and Waldo County Vouchers if you have a valid Help Fix ME voucher they too are accepted. Maine Woods Mobile Vet is the attending for this clinic.
