Ive been showing poultry since I was a kid. Never had parents that grew up in the hobby so I had to figure it out on my own (with their support of course). So showing has never been about the points, but getting this recognition is certainly appreciated. Thanks to my 4H leaders, mentors, friends and judges that helped me along the way to learn

Also thanks to the American Langshan Club recognizing me with the "bantam" Forrest Beauford award for winning three nationals in a row. I am pictured with friends and mentors Joe Oakley and Eddie "Cotton" Dunlap. They put these photos in the Poultry Press.

Haven't posted anything in a bit. Although I don't show rabbits often I've been working with some for a few years now. Went through a couple litters of cinnamons. They are still young, but I like what im seeing at this age. Hope to hit some spring shows with a few. I'm really enjoying the color and the personalities and reproduction of these cinnamons are great.

Photo of a blue bantam cockerel from this year. I've decided to start putting some more focus into the blues in the last 2 years. This has been one of the most promising males I've hatched. Although he isn't perfect with some type flaws to clean up I'm happy with a lot he is offering and he is laced with no red tinge in him.

I've always wanted to attend the poultry show in Sedalia, Missouri. They hire some judges I don't always have the opportunity to show under and have been told it was a nice show. They had one of their largest shows to date and I'm glad I attended. I had a blast meeting new people and promoting waterfowl as well as judging the junior show.

I was fortunate to walk away with reserve feather leg in a class of 267 in one of the shows. The photo of the Langshan is the best I could get for now. She has had enough of me messing with her for the weekend.

I managed to get Best Waterfowl In both shows and Reserve Show Champion in both shows with a Tufted Roman old gander(same bird both shows). This is the 3rd Roman gander and 4th Roman in general that has been best or reserve waterfowl this year. Every show I brought a new string of birds. Without a doubt they are my favorite birds on the property and I consider myself very fortunate to have been doing as well as I have with them this year. They are often overlooked and appreciate the fact that judges have taken some time to learn them and give them that second look.

Every year I like to go to a show that is out of my area and somewhere different. This year I decided to make the haul to Colorado and show at the Rocky Mountain Feather Fanciers show. This show had a great venue and great people with some excellent waterfowl classes. I surely enjoyed myself

In one show I ended up with Best Medium duck on a Buff hen, best light duck on a khaki campbell young drake that ended up being reserve large duck. That same show I ended up with best goose on a Roman and Best Waterfowl

In the second show I had reserve goose with a Roman and reserve feather leg on a black Langshan pullet in a class of 200 birds.

Blue Card show ended with a Reserve Show champion on a Roman Tufted Gander. The yellow card show I ended up with reserve bantam and 3rd overall in the show. Big thanks to the show staff and to the judges today. It was great to see old friends and meet new friends from the west.
