🧡. Dogs have a sense of time. It's been proven that they know the difference between a hour and five. If conditioned to, they can predict future events, such as regular walk times.
🧡. Your dog is as smart as a two-year old! Ever wonder why children around this age seem to have a special bond with the family dog? It could be because they speak the same language, roughly 250 words and gestures in fact.
🧡. A study at UCSD claims that your dog can genuinely get jealous when they see you display affection for another creature.
🧡 Your dog can smell your feelings. In fact, your dog’s sense of smell is approximately 100,000 times better than yours. So it shouldn’t be shocking that they can in fact, smell things such as fear. When a human is fearful, they perspire, and a dog is easily able to pick up on this change

It's summer and we all like to take our canine family members swimming,
👇What you should know👇
Blue-green algae, also known as cyanobacteria, can be found in lakes, ponds, and rivers, and can be fatal to dogs if they drink or swim in contaminated water. This is because the algae can produce toxins, called cyanotoxins, that can affect a dog's liver, nervous system, or skin. Symptoms can appear as early as 15 minutes after exposure, but can also take several days to develop. There is no antidote for blue-green algae poisoning, so prevention is key.
Here are some signs that your dog may have been exposed to blue-green algae:
*Vomiting
*Diarrhea
*Drooling
*Weakness or tremors
*Disorientation or confusion
*Collapse or unconsciousness
*Seizures
*Breathing difficulties
*Reddening of the skin
*Blisters of the skin

If you suspect your dog has been exposed, you should immediately wash them off with clean water and contact your veterinarian. You should also go to a local ER veterinarian if your dog is showing any of the above symptoms.

K9-Nine's life was a remarkable journey, and though I may not know all its details, I'm proud to say he served our nation with integrity. His PTSD was a challenge, but our bond only deepened. Nine was no ordinary dog - he embodied the spirit of loyalty and love. The evening of June 10th was a beautiful display of his affection, with playful nips and kisses that warmed my heart. It's a tribute to the incredible bond between Mali's and their humans. On the morning of June 11th, our usual training kong and coffee ritual was disrupted when I found Nine resting peacefully in a corner, having passed away in his sleep. Was his affectionate evening a farewell gift or a celebration of his life?

It is with profound gratitude and heavy hearts that we announce the End of Watch for Police K9 ‘Jack,’ ID K6, who passed peacefully today after a lifetime of unwavering service. Jack began his distinguished career in 2013 and retired in 2021, dedicating eight years to protecting our community.

During his service, K9 Jack located countless narcotics, apprehended dangerous suspects, and brought hope to families by finding missing persons in their darkest hours. His loyalty, courage, and keen instincts saved lives and made our streets safer.

Jack was more than a partner—he was family to his handler, Sgt John Cantalupo, a guardian to this department, and a hero to Titusville. Though his paws no longer walk the line of duty, his legacy will forever remain in the lives he touched.

K9 Jack, your watch has ended. We thank you. Rest easy, good boy.
