πŸ“’πŸ’§ FREE FRESH WATER AVAILABLE πŸ’§πŸ“’

While the wildfires have passed, many families in our community are still dealing with the aftermath. Some people remain without reliable water service, electricity, or are still working through repairs and recovery.

If you need access to fresh water, please reach out to us.

Our well is available, and you are welcome to fill water jugs here at the farm at no charge.

🚰 The well is located approximately 100 feet from the front gates.

πŸ›’ We have a Gorilla Cart available to help move water jugs if needed.

🚿 We also have several water hoses that can be connected to make filling containers easier.

Whether you need a few gallons for drinking, cooking, animals, or general household use, we will do our best to help.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Anyone entering the farm property, even if only to collect water, must have a signed visitor waiver on file. This is required by our insurance carrier and applies to all visitors 18+.

The waiver only needs to be completed once per calendar year and remains valid for all visits during that calendar year.

You can complete the waiver here:
https://www.mbfarmhatchery.com/licensing-and-legal

If you are unable to move heavy containers yourself, let us know when you arrive and we'll do our best to assist.

Please feel free to share this post so anyone still struggling with water access can see it.

πŸπŸ› οΈ VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED – FARM PROJECT UPDATE 🐷🌞

We have made a lot of progress on our farm projects, but we still have several projects that could use some extra helping hands to get them finished.

πŸ”¨ Goat Pen Brace Boards

- Brace boards still need to be installed on the goat pen.

- Boards are not particularly heavy, but they are 16 feet long.

- We mainly need a few people to help hold the boards in place while they are secured.

- All tools, screws, and materials are already on site.

🌞 Goat Shade Tarp Adjustment

- The shade tarp is already installed and only needs adjustment.

- This project requires someone comfortable working on a ladder approximately 16 feet in the air.

🐷 Pig Shade Installation

- Posts are already installed.

- We simply need a few extra hands to help hold and position the shade tarp while it is attached.

- This is a fairly simple project but is much easier with multiple people.

🚰 Pig Water Line Repair

- A section of water line needs to be replaced. The repair involves replacing a 5-foot galvanized pipe.

- A shallow trench approximately 10 feet long needs to be dug to access the line.

- We already have the replacement pipe, fittings, pipe wrenches, and all necessary tools.

πŸ₯ Grow-Out Pen Assembly

- We have another grow-out pen that needs to be assembled.

This is not a difficult project. We mainly need a few people to help hold the panels in position while another person installs the connectors and secures everything together.

- All materials are already on site and ready to go.

πŸ’š Most of these projects do not require special skills or experience. Many simply require a few extra hands to hold materials, position panels, or assist while another volunteer secures everything in place.

⏰ We Work Around Your Schedule
One thing that makes farm life a little different is that it is not a 9-to-5 job. We understand that not everyone works a traditional schedule, and we are happy to work around yours whenever possible.

Over the years, we have had volunteers help during the morning, afternoon, evening, and even late at night. If your free time happens to be 3:00 AM, then we'll work at 3:00 AM. We appreciate any help, at any time, and are grateful for every volunteer who donates their time to help the animals.

❀️ These Projects Are Not Emergencies
We also want to be clear that none of these projects are emergencies. We know many families throughout our county and surrounding areas are still recovering and may need assistance of their own.

If you are currently helping others, please continue doing so. We simply wanted to share our remaining project list in case anyone has some spare time and would like to lend a hand.

Whether you can help for an hour or an entire afternoon, your assistance makes a huge difference and helps us continue improving the farm for the animals in our care.

If you would like to volunteer or have questions about any of these projects, please send us a message.

Thank you for supporting M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. and helping us continue improving the farm for the animals in our care. πŸ’šπŸΎ

πŸ’š A Personal Family Update πŸ’š

We normally try to keep our personal lives separate from our business and nonprofit pages. This page is usually about the animals, the farm, our projects, and the work we do for the community.

However, many of our customers, supporters, volunteers, and friends know us personally. Many of you see Mikey at Tractor Supply, visit the farm, stop to talk with us around town, or have followed our journey for years. Because of that, we wanted to provide a brief family update.

One of the things we enjoy most about what we do is the people we meet along the way. Whether it's at Tractor Supply, a local store, a community event, the farm, or simply running into someone around town, we truly enjoy seeing everyone and catching up. We have met so many wonderful people through the years, and those conversations, prayers, words of encouragement, and even the simple "How are you doing?" mean more than you probably realize.

As many of you already know, Mikey is currently fighting a very serious medical battle.

Last week we learned that one of the tumors affecting his spine has progressed and has now begun causing fractures in several vertebrae. Doctors have also identified additional bulging discs, which are contributing to his pain and mobility issues.

Later this month we will be meeting with the surgical team to discuss the situation, review all available information, and determine what options, if any, may be available moving forward.

At this point, we simply do not have all of the answers. Like many families facing serious medical challenges, we are taking things one appointment, one test, and one day at a time.

Many people have noticed that Mikey is moving slower than he used to, has lost a significant amount of weight, struggles with pain, or occasionally has difficulty with balance and other day-to-day activities. The reality is that the medical situation has become increasingly challenging, but he continues to fight every day.

Anyone who knows Mikey knows that sitting still has never really been an option. Whether it's caring for animals, helping customers, working on farm projects, volunteering in the community, or finding a way to help someone in need, he continues to do everything he can for as long as he is able.

We are incredibly grateful for the support, prayers, messages, phone calls, cards, and encouragement we have received throughout this journey. While we may not always have updates to share, please know that every kind word means more than you can imagine.

For now, we ask for your continued prayers as we navigate the next stage of this journey and meet with the specialists later this month.

As always, we will continue caring for the animals, serving our customers, and moving forward one day at a time.

Thank you for standing beside our family.

πŸ¦œβœ… BIRD DEALER LICENSE OFFICIALLY ISSUED! βœ…πŸ¦œ

Yesterday we shared that our Georgia Bird Dealer License had been renewed. Today, we are excited to announce that we have received the official license from the Georgia Department of Agriculture!

Our Bird Dealer License (License #37-37123368) is now active through June 30, 2027.

Many people are unfamiliar with what this license covers. This license allows us to legally keep, breed, buy, sell, and work with pet birds and certain exotic bird species in accordance with Georgia law and Department of Agriculture regulations.

🐦 This license is separate from our Poultry Dealer & Sales Establishment License.

πŸ” Poultry licensing covers poultry and agricultural birds.

🦜 The Bird Dealer License covers pet birds and many exotic bird species.

As always, maintaining our licenses helps ensure that we continue operating responsibly, legally, and in compliance with state requirements.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. We are proud to remain a fully licensed and inspected facility serving both the agricultural and animal welfare communities.

πŸ₯ PROJECT UPDATE – NEW BROODER PEN COMPLETE! πŸ₯

A few days ago, Jennifer Lee and Gabriel Escamilla came out to volunteer at M&B Farm & Hatchery, and one of the projects they helped us with was assembling one of our new brooder pens.

We wanted to share a quick update and show everyone the finished result!

After what feels like endless rain, we finally caught a break in the weather and were able to finish the remaining work on the brooder. We completed the roof tarp, side shade/wind tarps, heat lamp installation, bedding, feed and water setup, and got everything ready for its newest residents.

As you can see from the photos, the little ducklings have already moved in and are enjoying their new temporary home. πŸ¦†πŸ’š

This brooder gives us a safe, dry, and secure space for young waterfowl and poultry while they grow and develop before moving to larger enclosures. The shade tarps help block wind and rain, while the heat lamp provides the warmth they need during cooler nights.

Projects like this may seem simple, but they make a huge difference for the animals in our care. Every enclosure, shelter, fence, and improvement helps us provide better housing and better care for the animals that depend on us.

A huge thank you again to Jennifer Lee and Gabriel Escamilla for donating their time and helping us get this project started. Volunteer help is something we can never have enough of, and their hard work helped turn a pile of panels into a functional brooder that is already being put to good use.

Thank you to everyone who supports the farm, whether through volunteering, donating, sharing our posts, or simply cheering us on. Every bit of support helps us continue our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for animals in need. πŸ’šπŸΎ

πŸ’šπŸΎ OFFICIAL LICENSE UPDATE! πŸΎπŸ’š

We are excited to announce that our Georgia Department of Agriculture Animal Shelter License has officially been renewed and the new license is now available!

πŸ“œ Animal Shelter License #33-33118799
πŸ“… Issued: June 2, 2026
πŸ“… Expires: August 31, 2027

This license allows M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. to continue operating as a licensed animal shelter under the laws and regulations of the State of Georgia.

Over the past several years, we have worked hard to build and maintain a facility that meets state requirements while providing a safe place for animals in need. From rescues and owner surrenders to adoptions, rehabilitation, and sanctuary care, this license represents countless hours of work by our volunteers, supporters, and community.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us along this journey. Whether you have donated, volunteered, adopted an animal, shared our posts, or simply encouraged us along the way, you have helped make this possible.

As many of you know, the past several weeks have been especially challenging for our family and our organization. Between the wildfire emergency, mandatory evacuation orders, relocating animals to foster homes, ongoing recovery efforts, and everything else life has thrown our way, there have been plenty of reasons to slow down. However, we remain committed to our mission and to the animals that depend on us every day.

Receiving this renewed license is another reminder that even during difficult times, we continue moving forward.

M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. remains fully licensed through the Georgia Department of Agriculture as an Animal Shelter, Pet Dealer, Bird Dealer, Poultry Dealer & Sales Establishment, and registered livestock premises.

We will also continue working toward our other ongoing projects and licenses, including our Equine Stable Program, facility improvements, and expanding the services we can offer to the animals entrusted to our care.

Thank you for believing in us and standing beside us.

πŸ”πŸ’š SPECIAL NEEDS CHICKEN NEEDS HELP πŸ’šπŸ”

We have a very special little chicken here at M&B Farm & Hatchery that was born with severe leg deformities. Her legs are positioned backwards, making it impossible for her to stand or walk normally.

Despite her disability, she is healthy, alert, eats well, drinks on her own, and has a wonderful personality. She doesn't know she's any different.

We are looking for someone with a 3D printer, design experience, or adaptive animal equipment experience who might be willing to help us create a custom support device for her.

Our goal is not necessarily to make her walk. We would simply love to find a way to help keep her upright and off her belly for portions of the day, improving her comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

Possible ideas include:
βœ… A custom support chair
βœ… A sling-style support system
βœ… A lightweight mobility cart
βœ… Any other adaptive device that may help

We can provide measurements, photos, and videos to assist with the design process.

If you have experience with 3D printing, adaptive equipment, engineering, veterinary prosthetics, or know someone who does, please send us a message.

Please share this post and help us find someone willing to give this little girl a chance at a more comfortable life.

πŸ’šπŸš— A DIFFICULT POST FOR US TO MAKE πŸš—πŸ’š

We have gone back and forth on whether to make this post, but we believe in being honest and transparent with our supporters.

As many of you know, during the wildfire evacuation, our primary vehicle suffered a major mechanical failure.

At the time, we were still trying to evacuate animals, move supplies, coordinate fosters, and later begin bringing hundreds of animals home.

Thankfully, our neighbors stepped up and allowed us to borrow a truck when we needed it most.

While using the borrowed truck, we had our vehicle inspected to see if repairs were possible. Unfortunately, the repair costs were simply more than we could justify putting into the vehicle.

Then something amazing happened.

A generous supporter donated a 1999 Ford F-150 to us.

That truck has been an absolute blessing, allowing us to continue operating, transporting supplies, attending appointments, and caring for the animals. We are incredibly grateful for that gift and for the kindness shown to us when we needed help the most.

Since our vehicle suffered a major mechanical failure during the evacuation, we have spent the last couple of weeks evaluating every available option. We considered repairing our original vehicle, continuing to rely on the donated truck, and searching for other transportation options. After extensive searching and discussion, we have finally found a vehicle that meets our needs and provides reliable transportation for years to come.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to financing, so we must raise the funds ourselves.

πŸ’š Vehicle Goal: $17,000
πŸ’š Already Raised: $2,000
πŸ’š Still Needed: $15,000

This is a difficult request for us to make because we know so many people are facing challenges of their own.

We are not asking anyone to do more than they can.

Whether it's a donation, a share of this post, or simply keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, every bit helps.

Reliable transportation isn't a luxury for us. It's how we get animals to veterinary appointments, pick up feed and supplies, respond to emergencies, transport donations, and continue the work that so many animals depend on every day.

We also want to be completely transparent. This vehicle will be titled in the name of M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc., just like our trailers and the donated F-150. It will be used for farm, rescue, sanctuary, and nonprofit operations, including transporting animals, picking up feed and supplies, attending veterinary appointments, responding to emergencies, and supporting the daily work of caring for the animals entrusted to us.

Every dollar donated toward this goal will go directly toward securing reliable transportation for the organization and the animals it serves.

Thank you for always standing beside us, especially during some of the hardest moments we've faced.

πŸ’šπŸ›’ WANT TO HELP M&B FARM & HATCHERY FOR FREE? πŸ›’πŸ’š

Many of you may remember AmazonSmile, where Amazon would donate a small percentage of your purchases to your favorite nonprofit. Unfortunately, Amazon discontinued that program.

However, we do participate in the Amazon Associates Program, which gives us another way to earn a small commission on qualifying purchases β€” and it does NOT cost you anything extra.

Here's how it works:

βœ… Find the item(s) you want to purchase on Amazon.

βœ… BEFORE adding them to your cart, send us the Amazon link(s).

βœ… We will send you back a special referral link.

βœ… Use that referral link to make your purchase.

βœ… Amazon may pay us a small commission from its advertising budget.

πŸ’š The best part? πŸ’š

β€’ It does NOT cost you anything extra.
β€’ We do NOT receive your payment information.
β€’ We do NOT receive your address.
β€’ We do NOT see what credit card you use.
β€’ We do NOT have access to your Amazon account.
β€’ We do NOT receive any personal or private information.

Amazon lets us know that a qualifying purchase was made through one of our referral links and may pay us a small commission.

Now, we're going to be honest with you...

In the last payout period, we earned $2.52.

Some people might laugh at that, but we're genuinely grateful for every penny. Around here, $2.52 is still money that helps buy feed, fencing supplies, cleaning supplies, veterinary items, and helps us continue caring for the animals.

The challenge is that Amazon doesn't issue payouts until an account reaches $10.00, so we're still working toward that first payout.

If you're already planning to shop on Amazon, this is one of the easiest ways to support the farm without spending a single extra cent.

πŸ“¦ Need one item? Send us one link.

πŸ“¦ Need twenty items? Send us twenty links.

We'll gladly send referral links back for all of them.

Whether your purchase is a bag of dog food, a keyboard, a phone charger, livestock supplies, household items, or anything else Amazon sells, every qualifying purchase helps.

❓ Already have items in your cart?

No problem! Simply remove them from your cart, send us the links, and we'll send referral links right back. Once you reopen the items using our referral links and complete your purchase, Amazon may credit the referral to our account.

πŸ“© Just message us the Amazon links, and we'll send the referral links right back.

Thank you for helping us continue feeding hearts, healing lives, and growing together β€” one rescue at a time. πŸ’šπŸΎ

As an Amazon Associate, M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. earns from qualifying purchases.
