Service dog work.....we are at the point where there are perks lol....Thank you to Lillipies Bakery in the Princeton Shopping Center for letting me bring the big guy inside.
I started working with Mr M before he was a year old...At that age and maturity we did obedience and public access. He has a ton of personality and absolutely adores people...so lots of work with 'no you cant go say Hi' and also disappointing the public by saying 'no you cant pet the beautiful friendly floof'.
We are now working on his tasks--Brace on both sides of his human will be a big one.
He also needs a really good Tuck...he's very big and needs to make himself smaller. Luckily he has no problem fitting into tight spaces!!

Such a fun day. The Summer Sniff-n-Go went off without a hitch other than I forgot my favorite travel coffee mug and my volunteers had to hear me whine about it all day. We had a beautiful venue (Glenmoore Farm), a wonderful bunch of volunteers and a lot of energetic and talented dog/handler teams.
I hope everyone had as much fun as I did! Thanks for coming and look for more Sniff-n-Gos in the future!

Cierna gets a little attention. We started to play in agility about 2 years ago to learn new skills and give her her own time with me. I have never intended to trial. I have enough stress when doing my certification tests for SAR...I never considered testing myself on weekends as fun LOL!!
Agility is pretty complicated and I have huge admiration for those who go fast and compete on complicated courses. It is amazing communication between handler and canine.
When I felt more confident enough in my own ability to run a course...we decided to enter a few trials. I did end up having the goal of getting a Novice Agility title and we were able to do that a few weekends ago.
C did great, I managed to not get lost and we got our 3rd Q for the title. I plan to get her tracking when the weather cools a bit...but who knows...maybe we'll also attempt an open course or 2 (or 3).

Congratulations Mia and Lauren. NW2 title earned today with a beautiful performance by both canine and human.

🎉 BREEDING ANNOUNCEMENT 🎉

This coming fall Kazi will be bred to Flint! Flint is a FEMA certified USAR K9 with NJ-TF1 with multiple deployments under his belt at almost 9yrs old. He’s extremely stable and clear headed, has strong environmental confidence, no dog aggression, no handler aggression, has very high hunt drive, excellent work ethic, high food and toy drive, with high possession. Flint is a steady and reliable partner while on the rubble or while searching and he’s just as reliable and steady at home or in public. He has lived with both male and female GSDs without an issue, serves as predator protection for Jen’s small farm, and has helped raise litters of foster kittens that have come through. He currently shares his home with a couple of adult cats, a female GSD, and chickens. Flint is OFA GOOD/NORMAL, LUW0, and comes from a wonderful pedigree of solid working dogs in various venues. His littermate siblings, and siblings from a repeat breeding, have all excelled in some form of SAR.

Kazi is a certified Live Find Area Search dog with New Jersey Rescue and Recovery K9 Unit and just passed her wilderness re-evaluation under the Search and Rescue Council of New Jersey. She has proven herself in the field with having a find under some brutal conditions (and on her 4th birthday!) during a search in Blairstown, NJ and has been on numerous deployments since her initial certification. She is extremely honest, clear, and easy to read in her search work. She is also my competition obedience dog for IGP Obedience and has achieved HIGH OB in trials for both her UPr1 and UPr2. She is a dog who brings a lot of joy and intensity to her work while also able to sustain drive. She is a dog who strives to be correct and genuinely cares about what I think and how I feel while working. She has intense toy drive, high hunt, nice environmental confidence, high food drive, no dog aggression, no handler aggression, high possession, and shares her home with her mom, littermate sister, my intact male, our 4 cats, and has raised numerous litters of foster kittens who have come through. Her first litter is 19 months old and all are doing very well in their respective venues (2 live find wilderness SAR, 1 wilderness HRD, 1 USAR with NJ-TF1, 1 high level AKC Tracking and NW, 1 hearing alert SD with fun tracking/OB.)

I expect this breeding to produce strong working dogs who will thrive with appropriate drive outlets and work, daily exercise and interactions with their people, and have high pack drive without sacrificing independent problem solving. This pairing should produce a bit of hardness coming down through Flint while maintaining biddability and a desire to be correct.

For my friend Rhonda: Rhonda has been a Great Pyrenees and Papillon breeder for many years, showing confirmation plus always active training for Nose Work, Obedience, Rally etc. Her dogs are lovely and always raised right.

Rhonda needs a kidney donor.

I met Rhonda when I reached out to Princeton Dog training club about starting a Nose Work program. She was all in and has been a student with her Papillons and Great Pyrenees since the beginning. Until her health stopped her.

Rhonda is tough and doing everything it takes to get through this, but now she really needs help. She is currently hospitalized with kidney failure and in need of a donor. Please help us spread the word on social media by sharing this information at
