Spring means baby goats, but kidding season can get serious fast.

Goat pregnancies last about 150 days, and signs labor is near include udder development, softening around the tail, restlessness, and discharge. Most deliveries are quick and straightforward, with two front hooves and a nose appearing first.

🚨 Call your vet if there’s no progress after 30 minutes of active pushing, abnormal positioning, or signs of distress.

After birth, make sure kids are breathing, warm, and nursing colostrum within the first 1–2 hours, and don’t forget to dip the umbilical cord in iodine.

Twins and triplets are common… so expect double (or triple) the cuteness 🥹✨

🐰🌸 Thinking about getting a bunny this Easter?
Rabbits can be amazing companions—but they’re not as “easy” as they seem.
The good:
• Quiet, clean, and apartment-friendly
• Can be litter trained
• Simple diet (hay, greens, pellets) —> have sensitive stomachs
• Sweet, gentle personalities

The reality:
• Need daily care, space, and attention
• Very fragile—can get sick or stressed easily along with having delicate spines
• Require vet care
• Can have chewing/destructive habits

Bottom line:
Bunnies are low-maintenance in routine, but high-responsibility in care. Before gifting a rabbit this Easter, make sure it’s the right long-term commitment—not just a holiday surprise.
For more information or if you have any questions, call our office to book an appointment to see your new bunny 🐰

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Healthy Paws!
As we gather around the table, don’t forget to keep your furry family members safe. Many holiday foods can cause upset stomachs — or even be toxic — for pets.

If your pet accidentally eats something they shouldn’t, call the pet poison hotline @ (888) 426-4435, or go to a pet emergency hospital right away. Wishing you and your pets a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving. 🐾🍂
