Spring means baby goats, but kidding season can get serious fast.
Goat pregnancies last about 150 days, and signs labor is near include udder development, softening around the tail, restlessness, and discharge. Most deliveries are quick and straightforward, with two front hooves and a nose appearing first.
🚨 Call your vet if there’s no progress after 30 minutes of active pushing, abnormal positioning, or signs of distress.
After birth, make sure kids are breathing, warm, and nursing colostrum within the first 1–2 hours, and don’t forget to dip the umbilical cord in iodine.
