Good news for this year’s Jamboree!! We have officially procured YETI as a sponsor this year!! We are super excited and glad to be landing sponsors like YETI from a National/International level. Hopefully we can round up some more. We would like to thank the folks at YETI for helping our sport grow. See y’all at Hoffman!!

Don’t forget about our Jamboree hats, make sure you have one before you show up to Hoffman!! Or just show support at your next field trial no matter where it is across the country. A $100 donation will get you a hat shipped anywhere you’d like. Just contact Carl Owens or Claudia McNamee for info!
We are still looking for any other level of sponsorships. Currently we have 3 of the 6 courses ($2000)spoken for and just gained another Champion Level sponsor ($5000) this past weekend. A prime example, some of these big named kennels who prefix is in front of the dogs competing, this would be a great opportunity to give back to the sport that y’all make money off of and it will be a great chance for advertisements seen by tens of thousands of folks across several social media platforms for the next several months Don’t miss out on the opportunity for your business, company or individual to sponsor this year’s Jamboree!

Worth re-posting these articles — shout out about how great Hoffman grounds are for our sport and the Jamboree!!

This month's free article from the popular Wildlife in North Carolina magazine is all about the The J. Robert Gordon Sandhills Field Trial Grounds, a 9,000-acre tract that is known throughout the field trial community as one of the best public facilities in the country.

This is what I’ve been preaching! Support coming from within the sport. The good folks over at the Amateur Derby Invitational will be sponsoring a dinner at this year’s Jamboree, that’s a $500 commitment from an Amateur Club that understands the impact our Pro handlers and trainers have on the sport. I’ve said it before, we have to make this movement ourselves to grow the the sport and if you are waiting on certain Kennel Club to show leadership and take the torch, then you will sadly be let down. Actions like this speak volumes!!! Let’s give it up for Quintin and Tasha Wiseman and everyone involved in the Amatuer Derby Invitational for supporting the 2025 Carolina Jamboree!

The mission of the Jamboree is simple, through sponsorship from both the National level to the in house grassroots level, we are trying to maximize the field trial experience for all parties involved. With extra cash incentive winnings, it helps the handlers commit to the entire 2 weeks of field trials and being away from home for that duration.
The main aspect of the Jamboree is directed at the owner. With everything in life increasing in cost, field trials are not exempt, from increased ground fees, fuel costs, food, judges etc all enter into the equation of entry fees. These entry fees have become an expensive burden placed on the owners. Through sponsorship, last year we were able to reduce entry fees by $75 per dog by helping pay some of the club’s overhead.
The donated items, social hours and dinners of course help all competing, but they also add to the overall experience of the fans. Be it the gallery riders, dog wagon crowd, or the new guy who just showed up to see what this field trial thing is all about. Having these evening events held at the clubhouse are huge for the betterment of the sport overall. Folks can meet the handlers, scouts, owners and even the dogs, that they may only know of from Social Media or the pages of Sporting publications. Unlike any other sport, direct interaction to the stars is welcomed at these events. More spectators means more positive exposure to this sport and more exposure leads to more sponsorships, just that simple.
In closing I hope all will spread the word, make plans and come attend some portion of this year’s Carolina Jamboree, the kickoff to the 2025-26 Field Trial season.
Feel free to contact me on any sponsorship opportunities that you can help out with, thanks and see y’all at Hoffman!!

Here I am trying to make it through the heat index of 115* in South Carolina’s humid Lowcountry, it’s a little discouraging knowing it’s only July, (just wait for August!) but it’s exciting to know the Nation’s top trainers are 5 days into the 2025 season turning loose the next generations of future Champions across the cool Northern prairies of the Dakotas, Montana and Canada! And when the boys (and gals) start turning them loose up North that means we can start the official countdown down South for the 2025 Carolina Jamboree at Hoffman, NC!!

Like I’ve said before, “the All Age seaon starts in Hoffman!” And this year it will Kick-off Oct 17th and run through Oct 30th!! That’s 2 weeks of non stop All-Age and Derby field trial action in the North Carolina Sandhills with the Nation’s top contenders both dog and handler.

Like any function today, it costs money to put on, and there is no difference in the field trial world. This is where our gracious sponsors come into play and help us realize these events can’t be put on without them. So far sponsors like PONCHO OUTDOORS, YETI, PURINA and many others, are helping to make our Jamboree world come to life.
This is a sport that thrives on sponsorship and support from within. The Jamboree is the official Kickoff-off of the season, so the bigger we make it the bigger the field trial season ahead can potentially be.
Here is the sponsorship schedule and breakdown. Please contact myself (Carl Owens) or Claudia McNamee on ways to help support our great sport and passion. Even though this is an Open All-Age trial, support and funds will make it down to all that enjoys Hoffman year around, from the Amatuer All-Age handler to the German Shorthair walking contestants. We’ve all heard the saying “without the amateurs we don’t have the pros,” well I can turn that around “without the Pro’s we don’t have the new amateurs and support for the sport.” Our pro handlers and dogs are the faces of this sport and if they thrive and succeed then the amateur side will thrive as well.
So let the excitement and countdown begin and let’s all get ready to turn them loose in the North Carolina pines on Oct 17th!! See y’all in Hoffman!

The Southwestern Championship runs over the spectacular prairies of South Dakota and is the only remaining Open All Age prairie trial. Cancelled last year due to low entries, the 2025 edition is coming out swinging with a significantly larger purse and amateur dog recognition awards. With the help of passionate and generous supporters and ongoing fundraising efforts, we plan to keep this important contest of skill and endurance on the books! If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to watch a pointing bird dog traverse and compete on these grounds, well then you haven’t witnessed one of the most thrilling tests in this sport. It should be on your bucket list!! Take note and add this event to your calendar — even if you don’t have a dog in the fight, come say hello if you’re nearby or just passing through…we’d love to see you!

Please Note: To help Support The Southwestern please message Claudia McNamee or let us know in comments below and we’ll be in touch. Thank you in advance for your interest and generosity, whatever the level.

Second day of the National Pheasant Championship started cool with a cloud covering but soon became sunny with a light breeze. Temperatures peeked into low 70’s. A total of seven braces resulted in eight covey contacts with several memorable performances.

We also drew the winner of the raffle for a Yeti cooler stuffed with stuff! Congratulations Andy Cline!!🎉🐾🐎
