My background is in the sciences, so forgive me if this doesn't interest you **This is your warning 😆
but I'm going to get nerdy 🤓
(This kind of stuff just excites me! 😁)
If your dog is anxious or nervous during grooming, I work on stimulating their vagus nerve to help their bodies switch from "fight or flight" to "rest and digest" mode 💤
What does that mean? 🤔
The vagus nerve controls things like heart rate, digestion, breathing and even immune responses!
It helps the body relax, regulate and recover 👍
So for grooming ✂️, I incorporate various techniques like touch, massage, creating a soothing environment,
taking things slow, etc.
But it first starts with ME. I want to be a source of calm for the dog (my breathing, energy, etc) as well as being patient and confident 🙌❤️
YES the dogs really pick up on and feed off of YOUR, in this case, MY, energy ⚡
I really work WITH your dog, to make them as safe and comfortable as I can during their time with me. 🥰
It's one of the perks of one-on-one grooming!

It was his first professional groom, EVER, and he was nervous but stoic 😎. He did great and was such a good boy. He really opened up and we became friends after he was done and got a treat 🧀
