Position: Pet Store Associate
Hours: 26 to 34 hours a week
Starting Pay: $18/hr
Responsibilities:
- Stocking & organizing merchandise
- Assisting customers with their pet-related needs
- Ringing up and processing card and cash transactions
- Maintaining a clean and inviting store environment
- Exhibiting a positive attitude to enhance customer experiences
Although we have a to-do list for reference, we are looking for someone who takes initiative and gets things done without being asked. This can be about stocking products, merchandising, cleaning, reorganizing, etc.
We also focus a lot on pet nutrition and wellness here, so whoever we bring in must be open to learning new things. We don’t expect you to come in and know every answer to every question right off the bat, but we will expect you to seek out knowledge and eventually be confident enough to answer questions all on your own.
Please keep in mind that this position also involves lifting and carrying large bags of dog food (up to 50lbs) daily, and you will be expected to do this with ease. Additionally, our closing shifts will require you to be alone for a few hours in the evening so please make sure you are okay with that before applying. Your overall schedule might consist of a few opening and closing shifts, but once we make a schedule with a new hire, that schedule will be set.
