Adopt Taylor!
Mini poodle
2-3 year old female
Fence preferred

Taylor Swift (nickname Tilly) is a beautiful 12 lb. red poodle available again after a failed 16 hour adoption where she wasn’t even given a chance to decompress. Please read revised bio.

Timid around new people, a bit skittish but making big strides in relaxing and enjoying her life in past 2 weeks. Not cat tested, takes a while to warm up to other dogs.

Tilly is sweet, quiet and smart. Loves to be outside in the grass, needs a yard. Loves pets and to be near her person. Doesn’t love being alone. Young children may make her nervous. So no young children. Recently started to play with toys, follow the other dogs, do zoomies as she learns how to be a dog.

Vetted, spayed, dental. Potty trained using dog door. Walks on leash well but doesn’t do her business on leash. Wavy coat will require regular grooming.

Adopters can live anywhere but must travel to Columbus ohio to adopt. Apply at freedomtailsohio.com

Chihuahua Mix
2-3 years old
Fence Required

Meet Keebler!
He is a Chihuahua mix about 2-3 years old. He needs to be an only dog. He needs to have a fence. He loves water and it calms him. He is a great swimmer. We haven't been able to put a harness and leash on him yet. He is not potty trained. He loves to go outside and run around. He is a big fan of pop music and likes to sing along if its a good song (Current Fav: Pink Pony Club). He really likes playing with toys! He has his own private bedroom that is fenced at the doorway and he goes into a little cage so I can take him outside alone. He is very entertaining, but needs someone willing to put in the effort to help him continue to heal.

More Info...
It takes Keebler time to let his guard down with new people. The longer he is with you, the less he tries to bite you. Handling him in the beginning is tricky. He will eventually be willing to sit on your lap. You have to give him time to feel comfortable with it. He has made tons of progress with us, unfortunately he gets too rough sometimes and tries to nip. He has so many moments of joy and growth, the potential is so obvious. Watching him heal is beautiful.

Keebler is fostered in Columbus, OH

Adopt Annie
Bernese Mountain Dog
7 years old
Female
58lbs
Fence required

Adopt Annie. Annie is a 7 year old Bernese Mountain dog who was adopted then returned to FTO as her owners felt she did not adjust well to their home. She is a cautious and timid Berner who came back to the rescue with a great deal of anxiety and constant digestive problems. Since her return, Annie has come along way with her social anxiety. She now takes long walks, no longer afraid of people walking by, bikes, or cars. She continues to startle to loud sounds or unexpected movements. Annie seeks attention, loves hugs and pets, comes when called and no longer hides in her crate as long as she is in a familiar environment with familiar people. She does well with other dogs as they so provide her comfort. House training is a struggle for Annie due to her continuous digestive problems.

Annie would do great in a calm home with someone that will allow her the time needed to trust and feel comfortable. They will need to have patience with her as she will probably always experience some times of digestive problems and will require special food and medications.

If you are willing to give a very deserving little girl a second chance, please apply for Annie. Adoption application can be found on the

🐾 Bernese Mountain Dog
🐾3 year old Female
🐾93 lbs
🐾 femce preferred
🐾fully vetted

Adopt Melina. Mel is the definition of Bernese Mountain Dog; big, powerful, strong and built for hard work. She is strikingly beautiful and blessed with a sweet, affectionate nature and embraces the "Berner Lean". She is a constant companion and often believes she is a small enough to be a lap dog. Mel was adopted but did was not fitting in with hrr new family. She is a bit selfish and does not like to share attention, and can be protective of her things such as toys, food or her crate. For these reasons she will do best as an only dog. She walks on a leash, has good recall, is house trained and does well in her crate, although it is not her favorite place and may need some coaxing to go in. Mel is spayed, up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative, and microchipped.
To apply for Melina, complete the adoption application on the website:

Meet candy!

She’s a sweet little 3 year old mini Goldendoodle. She was slated to be euthanized today at the vet for having a pyometra. The breeder who owned her decided to not save her after using her to breed for those 3 years.

The amazing gals at the vet called us and asked us to help her.
The surgery to save her will cost us money we don’t have, and a spot in a foster home we can’t spare BUT we will do it anyway.
She does NOT deseeve to die today.

Please 🙏 consider sending Candy a few bucks today.

Her bill needs paid immediately for her to be saved.

It’s $5 Friday!!

Well we did a thing.

We don’t usually deal in cats here at FREEdom Tails Ohio.. but we agreed to take in 5, 4 week old kittens who were in dire need of saving. They are all less the a pound very thin and absolutely COVERED in a massive flea infestation they likely would not have survived, it was that bad.

And along for the ride was an older 5ish month kitten also infested with fleas.

Kittens and Cats are never a good financial decision in rescue as they adopt for around $25 and cost around $200 each to fully vet, BUT not all decisions in rescue can be made on finances alone.

So welcome to safe “Fall kitties”

🐈‍⬛

To help these little babies out consider a $5 Friday donation today!!

Reminder.
FREEdom Tails Ohio will NEVER contact you on FB or messenger asking you to pay a deposit or fee.
We will never arrange a meeting or delivery to you if you haven’t applied on our website, talked to the foster and gotten a approval email from us.

Be safe out there.

Important LONG message for potential adopters. Please read.

🐶We will no longer be processing “preapproval” applications for you to have on file.

🐶We will only process applications for a specific animal once they are posted as available.

The information constantly changes as we get to know them and discover personalities, medical issues and needs. So applying for a dog that just arrived just doesn’t make sense.

🩵We appreciate so much how many people are interested in specific puppies and dogs we welcome to safe but it’s so time consuming to process applications on dogs that we honestly don’t know enough about to make good decisions on adopters.
Maybe this dog needs a fence and you don’t have one . Maybe this dog needs prescription food and a potential applicant doesn’t want to buy every week. Maybe the vet finds a serious health concern like cancer or diabetes. It just really no longer makes sense to bog down our volunteers in this way.

🐶please completely read the bios
Do not apply for a that needs another dog if you don’t have a dog. Please do not apply for a dog that needs a fence if you don’t have a fence. And so on.
We will not process your application if you do not meet the requirements for said dog. Those requirements are posted in the bios.

🐶So starting NOW we will no longer be processing applications for any animal, Dog or Cat. Until the animal has seen the vet, been groomed if needed and is ready for adoption.

✅How will you know.
When animals are ready the first place we post them is in the Facebook adoptable monthly albums.
They can be found under photos, albums and the current month.
Then within a few days if not adopted, we post them on the website freedomtailsohio.com
Then within a few days if not adopted we post on rescueme.com and petfinder.com

The best way to support us and the dogs your following is by sharing and liking our posts.
Follow the page.
Donating and volunteering.
And just cheering us all on. 💥
We often need your cheers and good vibes in such a negative world.
Keeping your negative comments to yourself is also helpful. (lol 😂 like if you don’t want to adopt a dog you don’t have to announce it to us. Just keep scrolling)

So short story is this.

When you apply you will have to have a specific dogs name on your application from this moment forward or your application will not be processed if you do not have a specific dogs name. You can not apply for “a doodle”

✅Your application must be complete if it’s missing information or photos it will simply not be processed. Reminder: please contact your vet to give them permission to speak with us and contact your reference to make sure they answer the phone when we call. Often times we can’t complete them bc references aren’t speaking with us or calling us back.

If you have applied and were not selected for the dog you applied for. You will receive a email stating you are approved.
That does not mean you are on a wait list.
We will not contact you about dogs. You must watch the page and when you see a dog that’s available for adoption THEN YOU can email in and state, I have an application on file and would like to move it to (insert name here).
👉You can not use that application to apply for a dog that just arrived that is not yet available. Only dogs that are currently available .

Your approved application is good for only 6 months of pu will then Need to reapply.

We really hope this new process will help the volunteers who are so incredibly busy to keep up with responses and help potential adopters feel that they are being responded to.

Thank you so much for understanding.

Adopt Lila and Brookes!
20 week old, female miniature poodles
5-6 pounds
Fully vetted and spayed
Good with other dogs, cats, and respectful older children
Fence required due to special needs
**Both Girls are Partially Blind and Brookes is Deaf**

Brookes and Lila are 20 week old, all white Miniature Poodle puppies with gentle souls and hearts full of love. Hearing and vision impaired, they navigate the world in their own quiet, special way.

Lila (affectionately known as Little Lila Bean 🫘 ) is the more playful and curious of the two. Since arriving in her foster home, Lila has blossomed. She loves toys, outdoor time, and has recently learned to conquer stairs! Her affectionate and happy nature shines brightest when she’s near her person or romping around the yard with her foster puppy sisters.

Brookes (nicknamed Brookie) is the more gentle soul of the duo. Once the more adventurous of the pair, she’s become more reserved lately and finds her greatest comfort in snuggles and quiet companionship. She follows her foster mom from room to room and seeks out soft places and a warm lap.

The girls are crate trained and making progress with potty training and leash walking but they'll need a patient family committed to helping them continue learning at their own pace. They do well with other dogs, cats, and gentle older kids, and they would thrive in a calm, understanding home. A fenced yard is required to keep them safe and a home with minimal stairs is preferred (as Brookes is quite scared of them). As a poodle, they will also need regular grooming to keep their coats clean and mat free.

Lila and Brookes are truly a team. They comfort one another, learn from each other, and navigate the world side by side. Because of their bond, they must be adopted together 🤍🤍. Apply at freedomtailsohio.com
