First clinic in the books. šŸ¤

2026 is just the beginning.

Today we made huge progress with Zenato and Mater ā€” two completely different horses with completely different trailer loading challenges. Thatā€™s what makes this work so rewarding: learning each horse, working through their unique resistance, and helping them find confidence and understanding.

So grateful for everyone who showed up and trusted the process. This is only the start.

Trailer loading isnā€™t about forcing a horse into a box.
Itā€™s about creating enough trust, understanding, and confidence that they choose to walk in willingly.

So many people struggle here because theyā€™re taught to fight the symptom instead of understanding the cause.

Resistance usually isnā€™t stubbornness.
Itā€™s confusion, fear, or simply a lack of clarity.

Rather than trapping him at the trailer, we gave him the space to move, think, and work through the pressure until choosing the trailer became the easiest answer.

Watching the moment it finally clicks ā€” when the mind softens, the feet slow down, and understanding takes over ā€” never gets old.

Itā€™s one of my favorite things to teach because itā€™s never really about the trailer.

Itā€™s about communication, feel, timing, and building confidence that carries into everything else we ask of our horses.

Materā€™s first rides wasnā€™t a big productionā€¦ because the real work happened long before I ever swung a leg over.

A quiet first ride isnā€™t luck.
Itā€™s the result of taking your time, building understanding, and never skipping the foundation.

So many people rush to the ā€œridingā€ part and then wonder why things fall apart.

When the groundwork is done right, the first ride should feel simple.

Thatā€™s always the goal here:
To create a horse thatā€™s confident, willing, and understands the job ā€” not one thatā€™s simply tolerating pressure.

Patience builds trust.

Mater got his wolf teeth removed yesterday and handled everything like an absolute champ šŸ¦·āœØ

As training progresses, making sure my horses are comfortable and able to perform their best is always a priority. From dental work and good care to proper saddle fit, the little details matter more than people realize.

Making sure he stays comfortable, confident, and happy in his work moving forward. A willing horse starts with a comfortable horse. šŸ©µ

Desensitization doesnā€™t have to be forcedā€”it shows up naturally when youā€™re willing to let the environment teach.

Moments like this build confidence, curiosity, and trustā€¦ not just tolerance.
