Belly lifts, otherwise known as back lifts, are an essential exercise that builds your horses core muscles. By rubbing or scratching your horses belly starting back to front, they will respond by rounding their back. This is especially beneficial for horses with kissing spine, and even horses with back soreness. In addition to this, belly lifts can even benefit strengthening the stifle. By strengthening the core, your horse will have better hind end engagement, encouraging stifle stability.

The stronger your horse is in the hind end, the better prepared they will be for competition and the less risk of injury.
