Alright, here’s the post everyone’s been waiting for! This is what my kennels and dog runs look like. The regular kennels are around 4’x6’ and the large kennels (I can make a second one in front of the other door) are around 6’x8’. The fences are 6’ high with cement bases, so no escaping here! Instead of grass, I decided to use artificial turf. This keeps dogs from digging and, most importantly, it keeps your dog CLEAN while they’re here! No muddy puppies coming home and making a mess right after you get home from vacation! The kennel area has AC and heating, and there is shade and protection from rain when they are outside under the overhang. Every kennel also has a dog door, so your dog will never have to wait for me to come let them out. If your dog doesn’t know how to use a dog door, no problem! I’ll teach them! And, just for safety, if there is a dog that doesn’t get along with yours, they can have separate yards since I technically have three yards that can open up into one big yard!
If you and a friend/family member are both going to be boarding your dogs at the same time and your dogs get along, please let me know so I can put them in kennels next to each other that share a yard, it makes it a lot more fun for them and a lot less stressful for me!
I took a lot of time and care designing my kennel area. I wanted kennels that would be comfortable for any dog, no matter their size! You can bring their favorite bed, toys, water/food bowl, a blanket or t-shirt that smells like you, anything that you think would make your dog more comfortable! I also have a few plastic travel-style kennels that I can use if your dog likes to sleep in more closed-off spaces. I can also use them if you have a small dog that likes to have an escape from your big dog:)
On a more serious note: If you need a last-minute place for your dog to stay due to a family, medical, or other type of emergency, I can help there, too. If your dog or dogs have stayed with me before, I will give your dog a place to stay, even if the regular kennels are full. In these situations, your dog will probably have to stay in one of the plastic kennels, but they will get as much time out of the kennel as possible. These emergency boarding situations are at a lesser cost, but they are ONLY available in emergency situations and ONLY for dogs that have stayed with me before. I will not let you choose to use these kennels for the discounted rate for a normal stay.
The only other time these plastic kennels would be used, unless they are asked for as an add on (within one of the big kennels) will be in doggy emergencies. This would include things such as injuries or unexpected illness while they are staying with me. I may also use them if your dog needs to be separated from everyone else for a bit to calm down and/or after a fight. I hope I never have to use them in either context, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Please tell me if your dog cannot be put in small spaces. I don’t want to stress them out more when I’m trying to calm them down or keep them safe.
If you would like to come see my kennels, message or text me and we can arrange a time for you to come see them! I’m quite a ways out of town, and it’s a little hard to find it because the maps apps don’t quite have the right location for my address. Ah, life in the country! That’s one reason why I pick up and drop off your dog!
If you have any questions, please contact me and I’ll answer as best I can! The best way to contact me quickly is text, as I can’t always pick up the phone. I have a “rules” print out if you would like to see one for more specific rules concerning the kennels and the other parts of my boarding process, just text me and let me know! I can also send you the intake form, if you want to fill it out in advance. I do require dogs to be up to date on all shots, flea and tick medication, and heartworm prevention. The full list of shots I require is in the intake form!
