Rockin Reegan Horse Training From first rides to finished partners, I develop confident, willing horses through clear communication.

English and Western are just labels—balance, softness, collection, and impulsion are the foundation of every horse. At Rockin Reegan Horse Training I believe a good relationship between a horse and rider starts from the ground up. A mutual respect is created by doing solid groundwork that consists of a combination of sensitizing and desensitizing exercises. Once I begin riding a horse I build on the softness and responsiveness I started on the ground. I strive to help an owner understand how, when, and why I utilize different exercises with their horse to build a healthy working relationship between them. I grew up with a mother who did 3 day eventing and a lifelong cowboy father. This gave me a background with fundamental knowledge of several different English and Western disciplines. Watching my parents combine their knowledge to train horses taught me there is no one single way to get a job done and to approach every horse like the individual they are. This has lead to a passion to continue learning and bettering my skills as a horsewoman.

Always lookin for small things that can help me be a better horse trainer 😊

Asking a horse to lift through his back and cross his front legs does more than stretch and strengthen his body.
It also gives us an opportunity to identify areas of stiffness, restriction, or places where he needs more softness and flexibility.

I like to think of this exercise as reps in the gym. 💪

Asking a horse to lift through his back and cross his front legs helps stretch and strengthen his body, but it also teaches him to isolate and move specific body parts in response to ours.
Learning how to use small movements from our own body to influence and isolate theirs is an invaluable tool as a rider. 🐴

The backstory is usually the first red flag🚩🫣

🐴 “My horse is hard-mouthed.”
“My horse throws his head in the air.”
“My horse won’t collect.”
“My horse won’t stop.”
Lateral flexion is ALWAYS step one. 👏

A little coaching perspective 💭 Sometimes fixing the “small” things starts with recognizing the bigger picture—how our cues, timing, and release all connect. Karon & Bella putting the pieces together. 🤎🐴
