Last Saturday was a wonderful day at Sweet Beginnings Midwifery client appreciation clinic. It was so rewarding to see so many happy families come together in community. I am so grateful to Marvelys for creating such a community of people where we can come together and be supported!
I am also so grateful for all of the stories that were shared with me. So thank you to everyone that came and shared with me.

If we can all be brave as parents and citizens to openly and honestly talk about the hard things in life we can only become better. This is not the stuff you think or plan to do with your child when you are expecting but maybe you should. If you are a perpetrator, victim, or family member of either my Heart goes out to you- we are all in this world together.

Tonight was another wonderful connection with the midwife that delivered my daughter. I can hardly wait for the day that everybody involved in a birth will learn to recognize the beauty in the process and the "system" will have reformed to allow our bodies to do what they can without fear.

Talking with another new mother yesterday again leaves me sad. She wanted to know why people stare when she is feeding even when she is completely covered up.

I wonder if our country would enjoy healthier children and reduced postpartum issues if we could gaze at our children as we breast fed and didn't risk passing out from being over covered in higher temperatures as we did it.

I will cherish the day that we will no longer shame families for doing the very things we are built to do.
