DAY 29 – BUBBLE CHASE 🫧🐾

Why This Enrichment Helps
✔ taps into your dog’s natural chase & prey drive
✔ builds engagement and excitement with you
✔ provides great physical + mental stimulation

How To Play
Blow pet-safe bubbles and let your dog chase, pop, and track them! You can encourage engagement by moving around, changing directions, and letting your dog “hunt” the bubbles in the air or on the ground.

Trainer Tip
Use dog-safe bubbles only (never regular soap bubbles). You can even add a little training into the fun—ask for a sit or down before releasing them with a “yes” to chase!

Pro Tip
Great for puppies or high-energy dogs who need a quick outlet! You can also use this as a reward break during training sessions to keep things fun and engaging.

⚠️ Safety Note
Keep sessions short for dogs that get overstimulated, and avoid on slippery surfaces to prevent injury.

DAY 28 – FROZEN CABBAGE / LETTUCE 🥬❄️

Dogs love to shred, rip, and destroy—it’s a completely natural behavior rooted in prey drive and exploration. Instead of trying to stop it, we can redirect that destructive energy into safe, structured enrichment 🙌

Today’s activity is simple, affordable, and super engaging:

🥬 Frozen Cabbage or Lettuce

Give your dog a whole head (or large chunk) of cabbage or lettuce—bonus points if you freeze it first!

Adds difficulty + longer engagement

Great for teething pups or high-energy chewers

Encourages natural shredding behavior in a safe way

🧠 Why This Helps

✔ satisfies natural urge to shred/“destroy”
✔ provides mental stimulation + problem solving
✔ great low-calorie enrichment option
✔ can help reduce boredom-based behaviors (chewing, digging, etc.)

🍎 Trainer Tip

You can take this idea even further by stuffing and freezing other dog-safe foods:

Cored apples (no seeds!) filled with wet food

Deseeded green peppers stuffed with kibble or wet food

Freeze for a longer-lasting challenge

This turns destruction into a reward-based puzzle, keeping your pup busy and fulfilled 💪

⚠️ Always supervise and introduce new foods slowly—especially if your dog has a sensitive stomach.

Day 27: Field Trip Adventure 🐾🌎

Training doesn’t only happen at home—it happens in the real world too! Field trips are an amazing way to build confidence, practice obedience around distractions, and teach your dog how to stay calm in new environments.

Today we took our training on the road and worked on:
✔ loose leash walking in public
✔ sits and downs around distractions
✔ confidence with new sights & sounds
✔ neutrality around people/dogs
✔ engagement with the handler in exciting places

Field trips can be as simple as visiting a park, pet-friendly store, downtown area, or grabbing a coffee and practicing manners outside.

Trainer Tip: Start where your dog can succeed. If they’re overwhelmed, create distance, reward check-ins, and keep it fun!

A tired dog is good… a mentally fulfilled dog is even better 💚

Day 26: Bobbing for Apples 🍎🐶💦

Turn snack time into splash time with a fun game of bobbing for apples! This enrichment activity is perfect for warm days and helps build confidence around water while working your dog’s brain.

✔ encourages problem solving
✔ builds confidence with water
✔ provides fun physical & mental exercise
✔ great low-impact activity for warm weather

Trainer Tip:
Use a kiddie pool, large bowl, or shallow tub filled with water. Float apple slices, carrot chunks, or your dog’s favorite treats. Start easy with shallow water and high-value rewards so your pup gains confidence fast.

⚠️ Always supervise, and skip whole apples for small dogs—use slices instead.

Day 25: Lick Mats & Chews 🐾🍖

Today’s challenge is all about enrichment without forgetting the calories! Lick mats, chews, and treats are awesome tools, but those extras add up fast if we don’t account for them.

💡 Calorie Examples:
• 2 Tbsp peanut butter on a lick mat = 180–200 calories
• 1 bully stick = 80–200+ calories depending on size
• 20 small training treats = 60–120 calories depending on brand

That means one enrichment session could equal a full meal for some dogs!

🐕 Example: 50 lb Dog Daily Calories (varies by dog)
• Senior / low energy: 700–850 calories
• Adult / average activity: 900–1,100 calories
• Young / active: 1,100–1,400+ calories

👉 If your dog gets 200 calories in treats and chews, that should come out of their daily food calories to avoid unwanted weight gain.

Healthy weight means less stress on joints, better mobility, and a longer happier life ❤️
