Our hearts are full after such a beautiful morning yesterday at Coffee with Horses: Bloom & Brew!

Thank you to everyone who joined us — your smiles, laughter, and love for our horses made it a truly special day!

A huge shoutout to Valley Community Pantry and Hemet Donuts for providing the delicious donuts that fueled our morning fun. We’re so grateful for the amazing support from our community!

Did you know… miniature horses might be small, but they have BIG personalities and even bigger hearts?

Mini horses were originally bred in Europe in the 1600s and were often kept as pets by royalty! Today, their gentle nature and compact size make them wonderful therapy animals and beloved members of our herd.

Bonus fun fact: Our minis—Austin, Bailey, and Sterling—have already stolen a few hearts around the ranch! Come meet them tomorrow at Coffee with Horses: Bloom & Brew!

Yesterday we asked:

How tall does a miniature horse have to be to be considered a true “mini”?
The answer is… C) Under 34 inches tall!

Miniature horses may be small in size, but they’re full of personality and charm. To officially be called a “mini,” they must measure under 34 inches at the withers (that’s the highest part of the back at the base of the neck). Anything taller and they’re just... short horses!

Our minis—Austin, Bailey, and Sterling—may be tiny, but they have BIG hearts and love making new friends.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing donors for your generous raffle item contributions for Coffee with Horses: EGG-Stravaganza! Your kindness helped us raise vital funds for our horses’ feed and medical care, all while bringing tons of joy and excitement to so many kiddos. 🐎💊🥕

Your generosity truly makes a difference — and it shows in every smile and happy moment we saw on the ranch yesterday.

One special little girl was especially lucky... she won several raffles! ✨ We think the Easter Bunny sprinkled a little extra magic her way! 🐣💫

Our Story

Therapeutic Horsemanship Equestrian Center, Inc. (T.H.E. Center, Inc.) stands dedicated to improving the cognitive, physical and psychological abilities of individuals with disabilities and special needs through our nurturing therapeutic horsemanship program. We are one of the most diverse centers in Southern California. We serve students with a wide variety of abilities, disabilities, ages, and sizes.

T.H.E. Center, Inc. was founded in 1984 by Teresa Wilhelm with one student, two horses and the support of the community. Her vision was to provide physical therapy, exercise and recreation to children and adults with disabilities and special needs in a professional, safe and nurturing environment. To date, T.H.E. Center has served over 40,000 students and provided in excess of 35,000 hours of services.
