Tuesday at T.H.E. Center 🐴☀️

Tuesday mornings at the ranch are all about connection, confidence, and caring for our incredible horses. Today our volunteers spent time checking in with the herd, practicing leading skills with our minis, sharing quiet moments of grooming, and making sure every horse felt seen, safe, and loved.

From our smallest minis to our largest horses, each member of the herd plays an important role in helping us create meaningful experiences for our students, families, and community.

💡 Horse Fun Fact: Horses are highly social animals and thrive on companionship. In a herd, they form friendships, look out for one another, and often choose favorite buddies to spend time with—just like people do!

We are always looking for caring, dependable volunteers who would like to be part of our ranch family. Whether you love horses, helping people, or learning something new, there's a place for you here.

🐴 Interested in volunteering or learning more about our programs? Send us a message!

🌼🐴 Motivational Monday🐴🌼

Austin’s reminder for the week: Don’t be afraid to stop and enjoy the little things. 💛

A sunny morning, a yellow flower, a few extra treats, time spent with friends… sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that bring the biggest smiles.

Take a page from Austin’s book this week: slow down, soak it in, and don’t forget to enjoy the flowers along the way. 🌼✨

Our chickens have come such a long way 🐔🤍

They went from being shy little chicks who would hide from everyone… to now happily being held, spoiled, snack-fed, and adored by our volunteers and visitors every week. ✨

Honestly? They’re living the life around here 😂🌿

Today’s Equine Foundations Training was an incredible success! 🤎🐴

The turnout was amazing, and we are so excited to welcome all of our new volunteers while continuing to grow alongside our current volunteers who completed the training today.

Volunteers participated in hands-on training covering:
• Equine foundations & horse behavior
• Ranch safety & horse handling
• Grooming basics & proper care
• Leading techniques & communication
• And more…

Our herd was ready to meet volunteers and assist throughout the hands-on training experiences, helping create meaningful learning opportunities and special connections along the way.

These trainings help create safe, educational, and meaningful experiences for both our herd and our community. We are excited for the future programs, field trips, equine encounters, and opportunities ahead!

Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Their time, dedication, willingness to learn, and commitment to our herd and community make these programs possible. We are incredibly grateful for every person who showed up today ready to grow, support one another, and help create meaningful experiences for others. Thank you for being part of the mission of T.H.E. Center. 🫶

Sterling said: Challenge accepted!

There’s something special about a horse when they feel safe, comfortable, and truly happy. 🤎🐴

The soft eyes. The relaxed energy. The little moments that almost feel like a smile.

Horses thrive in calm environments filled with trust, patience, and peace, and when they feel that, it shows in every interaction. Around the ranch, some of our favorite moments are the quiet ones: grazing in the sun, playful personalities coming out, and the kind of happiness you can feel without words.

A peaceful horse is a reminder to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the simple things. 🐴✨

🌿✨ Looking Back: Student L in the Sensory Garden ✨🌿

One of our favorite lesson memories is watching Student L explore the sensory garden at his own pace. From hidden treasures to colorful flowers and pinwheels, every discovery was guided by curiosity and choice.

Sensory gardens help students build confidence, encourage exploration, support emotional regulation, and engage multiple senses in a calm, natural environment.

🌻 Fun Fact: Studies show that spending time in nature can help reduce stress and improve focus!

We love seeing learning happen through exploration. 💚🐴🦋

There’s nothing better than seeing smiles this bright, this big, and this genuine when a family connects with one of our therapy horses 🥕🤍🐴

Team Thursday Spotlight ✨🐴

Meet Madelyne: one of the youngest members of our volunteer family, but also one of the most dedicated! Alongside her family, Madelyne spends multiple hours each week helping with all things ranch related; from feeding to community outreach, to helping us at events. She may be small, but her love for our horses and dedication to the ranch are absolutely mighty 🤍🐴

Her favorite part about volunteering:
“Being with horses and spending time getting to feed, groom, and love them.” 🐴

Favorite horse:
Sterling 🤍
“Because she’s cute, she has blue eyes, and she’s shy like me.”

When asked what she’d like people to know about T.H.E. Center, Madelyne shared:
“The ranch is fun and there are very nice volunteers that teach you about horses and how to take care of them.”

We are so grateful for kindhearted young volunteers like Madelyne and families who choose to spend their time creating a more compassionate and connected community with us each week. ✨ Help us give Madelyne a big THANK YOU for all her hard work and dedication, in the comments below!
