An image popped up from a tuxedo cat group and now I can't unsee it.

Cedar 119 looks at me like this all the time!

119 is a male kitty that has been in the shelter for a while. We estimate his age to be around 3-5 years. 119 can be super friendly when it is on his terms. If you are looking for a kitty with a little attitude and a ton of personality 119 is the one. 119 is fixed, microchipped and current on vaccines.

Bonus: 119 has a reduced adoption fee of $25.

I dropped a couple of toy mice in for the kitties the other day. Pea was on it like a cat on a mouse. 😹

Cedar 119 said he likes the insides of mice but for some reason this one gave him some sort of nasty hairball.

Pea and Pod along with Cedar 119 are some of our available kitties that would love to add some extra protection to your home from invading critters.

Adoption Pending!

Grey Paw hopes you are as excited about the 4th as she is.

Grey Paw is about a 10 week old female kitten that is available for adoption. She is very social and vocal. Grey Paw is fixed, current on age appropriate vaccines and microchipped. Grey Paws adoption fee is $50.

Just imaging the joy of waking up every morning to this look. Waiting, wondering ................"where is my breakfast!"

Pod is a male kitty about a year old. Pod is friendly but has a little attitude when he does not get his way. Pod is fixed, microchipped and current on vaccinations.

Instability on the hill below the shelter is always concerning to me as our building has sunk and shifted. Recent rains (down pours) have not helped with the leaks. Yesterday I responded to a call of a hit deer on the highway below the shelter. The new ravine adds a little more concern.

The shelter is the building on the top of the hill to the left.

And yes there is a deer in the picture just not the one I was looking for.

We have been getting reports of skunk encounters almost daily. I have been in the area of the skate park the last couple nights. This kitty thought the trap would make a good shelter. Owners can claim the kitty by contacting the shelter.

ISO: A king sized bed, a vacuum, and maybe a couple kiddos.

Calypso is a Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd/? mix. We estimate her age to be around 2 but that is just guess. Calypso is a snuggle buddy who loves to be around people. She does great with older children but her size may be a little much for toddlers. Calypso ignores most of the other dogs. We are not sure how she does with cats. Calypso will require a secure fenced yard.

Like many shelters across the country we have reached a critical stage of overcrowding. Several weeks ago we stopped accepting owner surrenders of cats as our 13 kennels were full. This morning we are housing 23 cats. At this time we are not taking any cats unless it is a dire emergency. We hope to get some more of the cats in our care available for adoption as soon as possible to free up space to resume semi-normal operations.
