MONDAY April 20th @ 6 PM AT CITY HALL!

The Havre city ordinance committee will be meeting at city hall to have another discussion on an ordinance that will allow chickens within city limits. The required notices have been posted about the ordinance meeting although I am not sure if it has reached as many people as it should. If you are a city of Havre resident and would like to have input on chickens, please attend this meeting. This is the second meeting this year on this matter.

The first meeting a majority of the people who attended were in favor of allowing chickens. Discussion was brought up that this may be a matter that should be put on the ballot in the upcoming election although a petition to get this on the ballot would have to be raised.

Although members of the city council read comments on social media most of the comments are found to be from people who are not residents of Havre. Physically talking to your representatives and providing your address will have the most impact.

If you cannot attend the meeting here is the city's website with the council members.
https://www.ci.havre.mt.us/mayorcity-council
By clicking on the members name it should open an email.

Please share we would like to have as much input on this as we can.
