I’m a very open book. I am who I am. I don’t sugarcoat things. I say what I mean, and sometimes people don’t like it—but I truly don’t care. If I can take it, everyone else should be able to take it too.
That being said, I’ll tell you something: since running the rescue, I’ve turned into a complete sap. 😂 My emotions run high, and I care deeply about these animals.
I have no problem asking for help. There’s no shame in my game. What I hate is feeling like I’m begging. I honestly don’t know how other rescues constantly get donations, but I know what it takes to keep this one going.
People drop animals off. No surrender fee. No food. Nothing. They expect you to just figure it out.
And I do.
The rescue is A LOT of work, especially because I set high standards. If you want to help, HELP. Don’t do s**t half-assed, because when you do, it just creates more work for me.
I ask for donations because I genuinely need them. I can provide tax-deductible donation receipts. I need the help of my friends, family, and community to keep this rescue going.
It costs a LOT to feed and care for these animals. Everyone sees the beautiful animals, the happy endings, and the pictures—but not everyone sees what happens behind the scenes.
Vet bills.
Farrier bills.
Feed.
Hay.
Medications.
Sick animals.
Emergency care.
Maintenance.
And a million other expenses that never seem to stop.
The list goes on and on.
I’m not asking because I want something for myself. I’m asking because these animals need us.
If you can donate, please donate.
If you can volunteer, volunteer.
If you can help with supplies, help.
If you can share a fundraiser, share it.
But if you’re going to help, please actually HELP.
This rescue means everything to me, and I’m going to keep doing everything I can for these animals. I just can’t do it alone
