Hello everyone who is following this page, I am one of the admins, and the owner of the company Dogpalace Dogtraining LLC in Harwinton CT. This page is dedicated to dogs who has emotional/physical special needs as the dogs move on in life we change who the page is helping.

Meet Bailey and Cosmo, Bailey is famous for his stunt of jumping in the Hudson and running the whole way to NJ from Brooklyn.
Bailey is born a very fearful and anxious dog, Red Hook Dog Rescue has committed to him and his long term rehab. This page will have updates about his life and progress. If you wish to support Bailey in his progress please donate to Red Hook Dog Rescue who I am working with in this case.

Cosmo belonged to a client of mine, he was freshly adopted, he loves dogs but has been abused by people so he bit two people. The owner wished to return him as she had issues handling him, the rescue said to euthanize him. I adored Cosmo so I took him on as my own, and Bailey took to Cosmo instantly so Cosmo has become Baileys Emotional Support dog. Cosmo was older than the rescue told his adopter, he seems to be in pain sometimes with his hips, he has exercise induced diarrhea and will p*e in fear when you clip a leash on him.

But Cosmo is amazing with dogs, and Bailey took a shine to him. Now we joke that they are brothers, and they seem to think so. This page will be dedicated to their progress and training.

This odd couple are becoming best buds, we have now built a big pen which is almost done, Thank you to Maureen and Cliff Jones with Cliff Jones Construction company in CT for donating a big portion of the cost of the construction of this pen. Thank you to US Fence company in Brooklyn for giving us the fence at cost and a bunch of parts for free. Last but not least, Thank you to Ron Fennick with Fennick Props NYC, for driving it to CT for us.

When working with rescue dogs, it takes a village, a big one!

We are hoping that being able to have more playtime and an older dog as rolemodel will make Bailey come out of his shell even more than he has. Bailey is learning about the world, and Cosmo is learning to trust humans again.

Flower was laid to rest at 5.04 PM yesterday. She was pre medicated hoping that the vet would just be able to gently sedate her and then let her go.

Flower is an adrenaline filled party can.
Despite 125 mg of acepromazine, 450 mg of trazodone, sileo and Gabapentin she was still standing without any issues. She tried to eat both the vet and the vet tech in true Flower fashion and the vet had to blow dart her to knock her out.

Most dogs gets startled and run away when the dart hits them(this vet works a lot of untouchables she is a mobile vet), not Flower, she whipped around, pulled the dart out of her ass and chewed on it true to her stoic self. That was the last photo I took.

After this she walked into her little house and passed out.
I took the opportunity and gave her all the snuggles she was too scared to receive normally before her Good Bye came.

She will be cremated, im going to spread some here on my land who was her true only home, this way she can continue to protect it.

Me and her team are grateful to know she is at peace.
Fly high and never be scared or aggressive again my little girl.

This is not an easy message to share, we have decided to let Flower go to the Rainbow bridge tomorrow afternoon.

I am sure it comes to a surprise to some as per photos it looks like she is doing well, and she is ok, but she is not great.

Her eye sight is nearly all gone, she trips more frequently, sometimes she even loses her big red ball when its just 3 feet away. If it is not moving she can't see it at all, she mostly finds it by smell. Days when its too dark out (rainy), she wont come out at all to play, the more her vision has disappeared, the more introverted she has become. This also leads her to give me more warnings, she snaps/growls.

Yesterday evening the wind caught a bush so it moved, she noticed it, thought it was a human and went to attack.

She also do not wish for as many cuddles as she used to, the weather has to be perfect for it.

As you all know fall and winter is here, this means she will sit almost 6 months in her kennel and not wish to come out. I also do not know how dangerous she will be for me once her eye sight is all gone. Her sister did attack one of her shelter volunteers she was friends with badly, she has also been euthanized. Her brother is still in the same shelter she came from, from what I understand he is hard to handle as well.

We dont find this fair to Flower to keep her alive when her quality of life is mediocre and will go to low, she is not happy that way and that is not how any of her people wish to remember her. This last month her friends have been here, she has been eating a lot of stuff, some healthy a lot less healthy, but she has enjoyed it.

This dog who used to have pretty bad possession aggression has gotten so much good stuff that she now leave things half eaten and has become picky of what her favorites are. It truly has felt good to be able to give a dog who has ever had so little, enough that she feels safe in that she will get more and she will get what she wants.

Thank you all for supporting Flower these last 18 months, she has enjoyed every treat from you guys. She really has tried to be the best she can be. She is an amazing little dog and will take a chunk of our hearts with her when she goes.

Some of you may remember me posting about Harry and Lily last week. This senior pair was living alone in an apartment after their owner found himself indefinitely hospitalized. A temporary foster has been found but unfortunately the landlord found out and the dogs have to go. :-(
These two very sweet dogs finally got to spend one night with a human that showed them a lot of love. But now that chance is over now too.
We desperately need another foster or rescue to help these two out! Harry and Lily are extremely friendly and loving.
Although they are seniors they still have some nice energy and have many good years ahead of them.
This is their last shot. We only have 24 hours. we don't want them to end up in a shelter separated and even more alone than they already are. They still have each other but are alone very much alone...
Please help the clock is clicking quickly...
