Happy Mother's Day to all the dog moms out there!

The early mornings, the muddy paws, the unconditional love - you do it all! Your love (& patience) doesn't go unnoticed.

We see you, and we appreciate you.

The dogs didn’t know they’d have so much distraction to finish off the month.

Distractions are part of the process, not a detour from it.

In obedience training, we don’t wait for perfect conditions. We train through the noise, the movement, the temptation because that’s where focus is proven and strengthened.

This phase matters even more for bird dogs. The field is full of scent, movement, and excitement, and without a steady foundation through distractions, excitement can easily override obedience. We’re not removing drive. We’re shaping it, so it stays under control when it matters most.

It’s no different in our walk of faith. Life rarely gets quiet on command. But we’re still called to be steady, attentive, and responsive to the One guiding us.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Stillness isn’t the absence of distractions—it’s choosing obedience in the middle of them.

🐾 Welcome to Prairie Pursuit, Dante!

(Something tells us our normal training treats might need an upgrade, this big guy deserves more than breadcrumbs for being a good boy. Dante makes everything seem miniature!)

Whenever we set goals—for ourselves, our businesses, or our dogs—we need a foundation to build on.

Goals don’t just happen. They’re the result of a plan… a sequence of small, intentional steps done well.

Dog training is no different. We may have a clear picture of the finished product, but the dog doesn’t. It’s our job to break that vision down and build it piece by piece.

When teaching a dog to recall into heel, we don’t start with distance or distraction—we start with position. Close, controlled, and repeatable.

Through consistent repetition, we build muscle memory.
Through clarity, we build confidence.

And over time, what once required effort becomes automatic.

That’s the power of a solid foundation—
it turns intention into instinct.

And it’s no different in our walk of faith.
God often builds us the same way—through small, faithful steps repeated daily.

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24

Faithfulness in the small things… is what prepares us for the greater things.

In the middle of noise, movement, and pressure… they hold their place.

Not because it’s easy—but because they’ve been taught to be still.

For a dog, “place” isn’t just a command—it’s where they learn calm, self-control, and how to ignore the chaos around them.

We weren’t made to live constantly reacting to every distraction either.
God invites us into something different—quiet, steady, present.

“Be still, and know that I am God…”
— Psalm 46:10

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…” — Isaiah 30:15

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” — Luke 5:16

There is strength in stillness.
Clarity in the quiet.
And sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is be still.

Find your place. Stay there. 🐾
