BEAR RESCUED BY THE New Jersey State Police. On April 1st around 1:37 p.m., troopers responded to an unusual call, a lone bear cub spotted in a roadside ditch. When they arrived, they found the small cub alone and clearly in need of help. Troopers safely secured the cub, transported him back to the barracks, and ensured he was turned over to the Department of Environmental Protection for proper care. Great job.

I'm a dog groomer. Client brings in the same "dog" every month. It's clearly a raccoon. Nobody will acknowledge this.

First appointment, January. Woman scheduled a "Pomeranian mix" grooming.
Brought in a raccoon. Actual raccoon. In a dog carrier.
I stared. "Ma'am, that's"
"His name is Biscuit. Just a trim please. He gets matted."
My manager was standing right there. Nodded. "Standard Pomeranian package?"
"Yes please."

I groomed a raccoon. It was surprisingly cooperative. Probably used to it.
Charged her $65. She tipped $20.

Biscuit returns monthly. Same routine. Nobody mentions the obvious.
Other groomers wash him. Trim his nails. Brush his teeth. We have before/after photos displayed. "Biscuit - Pomeranian Mix."
He's visibly a raccoon. Black mask. Ringed tail. Hands instead of paws. Eats from the trash can in our break room.

New employee started last week. Saw Biscuit's appointment.
"Why is there a raccoon on the schedule?"
Everyone went quiet.
Manager said, "That's Biscuit. He's a Pomeranian mix."
"But he's literally"
"A valued client. Who pays on time. Do we have a problem?"

New girl didn't argue.
Yesterday, health inspector came. Routine check. Saw Biscuit getting a blowout.
"Is that a raccoon?"
Owner didn't look up. "Pomeranian mix."
Inspector wrote something. Left.

We passed inspection.
I've been here four years. Groomed Biscuit 48 times. He's objectively a raccoon.
But on paper? Pomeranian mix.
And everyone just..... accepts this.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm insane. If we're all collectively hallucinating.
But then Biscuit shows up. Climbs onto the grooming table using his weird little hands. Chatters at me.
And I wash him. Style his fur. Send him home looking fabulous.

Because apparently this is my life now.
Professional raccoon groomer.
Pretending it's a dog.
For $65 plus tip.
Every month.
Forever.

Some routes come with barking, some with wagging tails… and then there’s Leroy, the legendary greeter of Moran, Kansas who does things his way. 🦙❤️

Every day, the UPS driver drops off the packages and casually says,
“I’m gonna go say hi to Leroy.”

And like clockwork, Leroy sprints over like he’s been waiting all morning just for that moment. No hesitation. No attitude. Just pure llama-love and a soft little “kiss” to let his favorite brown-uniformed buddy know he’s appreciated.

Only on a UPS route can you deliver a package one minute and get smooches from a llama the next. 🤣📦

Moran, Kansas you’ve got yourself a VIP (Very Important Pasture-pal).

Delta Airlines Flight 694 had taken off from Detroit, heading for Los Angeles just another routine trip. But high above the clouds, something unexpected happened: a small dog traveling with its owner suffered a serious medical emergency.
Its condition deteriorated fast. It was critical. And then came a decision that was anything but routine: the captain chose to divert the flight and make an emergency landing in Minneapolis... to save the life of a dog. Over 180 passengers delayed. The crew faced added stress. Fuel, time, logistics compromised. All for a dog? Yes. And no one complained.
As fate would have it, a veterinarian was on board and stepped in immediately, stabilizing the little one as the plane descended. On the ground, a medical team was already waiting. The dog survived thanks to a courageous act of compassion at 30,000 feet.
And when the plane finally took off again, it wasn’t met with grumbles or impatience. It was met with applause. Because everyone understood something beautiful: every life matters.
In a world obsessed with speed and efficiency, this story is a soaring reminder of what really makes us great our ability to care, even when it’s inconvenient. 🥹🙏🌹
