Well, hello in there. 💜

Meet the keeper from my very first home-bred PBGV litter. 💜

Becada Nostalgia at Gebeba — from the Grant x Juju litter, bred by George and Betty Barth and myself. Pictured at 8 weeks.

I've been involved with PBGVs for 15 years, and a co-owner on many litters along the way. But this one is different: this is the first litter bred right here at home, under my own kennel name.

Learning a breed takes real dedication — years of studying pedigrees, watching dogs grow, asking questions, and loving every minute of it. All of that led to this girl.

Welcome to the journey. 💜

There's a reason our puppies are raised in our home, not in a kennel building.

They grow up hearing the vacuum, the doorbell, the dishwasher. They learn what a couch is for (napping, obviously). They meet visitors, hear everyday life happening around them, and figure out that the normal sounds of a house are safe — long before they ever go to their own families.

A puppy raised underfoot doesn't just learn to live in a house. They learn to be part of one.

It starts with a couch, not a kennel. 💜

✨ Spotlight Sunday ✨

Meet Polo — the dog who started it all. 💜
GCH CH Winon Washington Eleerre

When I first found Russell Terriers, I only planned to have one as a fun learning experience. Then Christy Rebehn of Hunter's Moon took a chance on me and offered me the chance to co-own an import from Argentina — and Polo became my first competitive Russell Terrier.

And what a career: Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best Bred-By at Montgomery in 2019. Select Dog at the 2019 AKC National Championship. Awards of Merit at Montgomery in 2021 and 2022 — including this photo, from Montgomery 2022. 🏆

Now retired, Polo spends his days watching planes and chasing deer from his backyard… and his nights sleeping in the bed, where he's always slept. Some things never change. 💜

Every dog at Becada exists because of this boy. Thank you, Polo.

Any Tennessee friends please keep an eye out! And all please keep these pups in your thoughts ❤️

As a side note, we do not have details about why or how this breeder was targeted. But incidents like these are just one of the reasons breeders are becoming more and more hesitant to let potential owners come to their homes. Especially before puppies are ready to get picked up. Please keep that in mind when looking for a breeder and talking to breeders. Just because a breeder doesn’t allow you to come to their home right away is not a red flag. They may be looking out for the best interest of their puppies.

This isn’t something we normally do, but this needs to be shared far and wide …..😣

Classy went to work yesterday for some socialization. What’s your favorite place to take puppies after they’ve had their vaccinations? 🐶

🐾 BIG NEWS at Becada! 🐾

We're launching our Co-Ownership Program — the best of both worlds for the right local family! 💜

It starts with a couch, not a kennel: a carefully selected Becada dog lives with YOU permanently as your companion, while staying part of our small breeding program — returning to us for showing, health testing, and breeding during an agreed period. Your home is their forever home; we guide their journey.

What's in it for your family?
✨ A reduced placement fee
✨ Mentorship in training, grooming, and conditioning
✨ A front-row seat to the sport of purebred dogs
✨ The pride of watching your dog's legacy carry on

A great fit for a local family excited about responsible breed preservation and comfortable keeping their dog intact for the program period.

Placements are limited — health, temperament, and happiness come first. Showing or breeding is never guaranteed, but a cherished family companion always is. 🐶

💬 Interested? Message us about your home and what draws you to co-ownership!
