We have a great relationship with our McDonough . We have an information board set up in store and will be there this Saturday with some of our rescues, to meet the community and let people know what we are all abt. If you are in the area, stop by and say hello!

This handsome guy was taken in by animal control. He is very thin and lack a nutrition stunted his growth. He is very forgiving and friendly, for being nearly starved by his owner. He will need to be castrated and fed a nutritional diet, but we are hopeful that he will make a full recovery. If you would like to donate toward his care, please go to our website Horsetreeanimalrescue.org and hit the “donate” button. 100% of the donations we receive, go to the care of the animals. ❤️🐄

Today we picked these two sweet goats from another animal control shelter. They were taken in from a home of neglect. They are thin, but will be wormed and given some good nutrition. We have no doubt they will be at a healthy weight and ready for a new loving home very soon. ❤️🐐🐐

With additional rescues coming in regularly, our hay and feed costs increase. We are currently on track to need 65-70 round bales of hay for the year. If you would like to donate to our feed and hay drive we are rolling out, we would really appreciate it, and it would greatly benefit the rescues on the farm. Honestly, no amount is too small, and every bit helps. If you cannot donate, you can still help by sharing. 💕. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=QRNQYHXBUYMYQ

Meet Lady Baa Baa! She's a Painted Desert Sheep we welcomed yesterday. She's currently underweight and battling hoof rot, but we're hopeful she'll make a full recovery. Lady Baa Baa is shy but will warm up soon. As a Painted Desert Sheep, her wool sheds naturally in spring, so no shearing needed! 🐑 If you'd like to support her care, please note that 100% of donations go directly to animal care.

Meet Pretzel! We just left the shelter with him, and now he is heading back to the rescue. He is a little guy, very sweet, and already neutered, so he won’t be smelly. We love working with all the shelters to get farm animals out and away from all the barking. Farm animals are prey animals, so all the barking has them very nervous that they could be eaten. They don’t understand that the pens keep them safe. Pretzel will be checked out at the farm, wormed and be available for adoption soon. If you or anyone you know that would be able to give this guy a loving home or foster, please send us a message. We’d love to find this sweet boy the home he deserves. ❤️🐐🥨

We are super excited and grateful for this donation of a tractor and 5 different attachments that was donated to the rescue. This will for sure be helpful around the farm. Being a nonprofit, we rely on donations and volunteers to make it possible to continue our mission. Together we can all make a difference in the lives of these animals that for whatever reason, ended up in a bad situation, and now have a 2nd chance at a loving home. ❤️

Horse Tree Animal Rescue is named after this distinctive tree standing alongside a spring-fed creek in our front pasture. Also known as trail marker trees, Indian marker trees were bent by Native Americans to mark trails, crossings, or significant sites. These trees, often oaks or maples, were bent young and secured, forming a unique trunk shape. Their height and shape made them easily identifiable, guiding Native Americans along trails and to culturally significant locations. As navigational tools, Indian marker trees played a vital role in Native American travel. We feel fortunate to have this historical landmark on our rescue farm and plan to honor and preserve the space.

During the recent storm, Teddy and the other little chickens suffered the loss of their home due to a fallen tree. Thankfully, they were not injured, but a predator-proof home is urgently needed, especially considering their tiny breed. As a 501-c3 non-profit organization, we depend on donations and volunteers to fulfill our rescue mission. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to support the rebuilding of Teddy’s home, please visit our website Horsetreeanimalrescue.org and click on the ‘Donate’ button.

Cowboy, MooLissa and MooTilda are supervising while we do some fence repairs around the farm. It’s slow go, only because they want neck rubs every few minutes. Some people have no idea how affectionate cows can be, and that they have their own individual personalities. ❤️
