Thinking about adopting a kitten? We have a pretty good reason to make it two! 🐱🐱

When you adopt a kitten pair, you get to watch a friendship grow right in front of you. You’ll often notice they learn from each other, burn off that endless kitten energy through play, and develop important social skills like boundaries and appropriate play. Instead of looking to their humans for entertainment every minute of the day, they have someone who speaks their language.
That’s two kittens who get to grow up together. Two more animals who can come through our doors. And four lives changed because you said yes!

This September, we’re hosting puppy socialization classes! 🐶

Last year alone, SASF received more than 700 surrender requests for dogs, many involving dogs surrendered at a young age. When we educate pet owners before problems arise, we can help strengthen the human-animal bond, prevent behavioral challenges, and ultimately help more dogs stay happily in their homes.

Please join us every Saturday in September for our Puppy Socialization Class, (6 months and under) designed to help puppies build confidence, learn appropriate social skills, and become happy, well-rounded adult dogs.

Miko’s wait started in June. We’re hoping his happy ending starts today. Just under 4 years old and around 40 pounds, Miko is the kind of dog who brings a little more fun, energy, and personality into every room he walks into.

Miko was surrendered to us by a local family who could no longer care for him. Originally from Puerto Rico, he’s now hoping his next chapter will be the one that finally lasts.

This handsome guy is playful, energetic, and happiest when he’s around people. He’d love an active family who will take him on walks and give him plenty of
opportunities to burn off his zoomies. He is also great with kids! And when it comes to making friends? Miko does great with other dogs and absolutely LOVES his daily playgroups. 🐶

With a new school year just around the corner, we’re inviting local schools, teachers, and educators to partner with us through our Humane Education Program! 📚

At SASF, we believe some of the most important lessons we can teach our children are about compassion, empathy, kindness, and caring for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Through humane education and our Furry Friends program, students have the opportunity to connect with animals, learn about responsible pet ownership, understand the importance of animal welfare, and discover how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Whether you’re looking for a classroom visit, a shelter experience, an educational presentation, or a meaningful community partnership, we’d love to create something special with your school!
