Last weekend we entered our pups in their first fastcat event. Dog sports are such a fun way to get your dogs out of the house and stretching their bodies and minds. The only necessary skill for this event is being intrigued by a lure which most dogs are. Once they see it go they’re off to the races. Easy peasy. Check it out sometime they have events in CT, NY and New England regularly.

This adorable papillon came in for her first haircut with us. She wanted a sporty summer ‘do for ease of maintenance while keeping that classic papillon profile. Papillon is French for “butterfly” which you can see the silhouette of a butterfly in their ears. Elegant and light as a feather but able to conquer the world.

In 2026 we want to broaden our socials to include not just the importance of grooming in your dogs life but also nutrition and mental health. We so often see dogs with skin and behavioral issues and know how frustrating they can be for their parents to live with day in and day out. We want to begin sharing what we do with our own dogs at home to help keep them happy, healthy, enriched and responsible members of not only our homes but our communities as well. We are not professional trainers or nutritionists (and if you’re looking for either we know some great ones, just ask us! Northpoint Pets & Company Paws N Effect). But we are hoping to help the everyday pet parent engage more with their dogs and have a much happier coexistence at home and abroad. You’ll also see this new vision reflected in our retail selection as well. We will highlight different products that we use and love and help us and our dogs live longer and happier lives together. Join us on this adventure!
