We are looking for barn help for mucking, hay, feed, and water, and other general barn chores. You must be reliable and have reliable transportation. You must be comfortable around horses, be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, and the ability to drive a tractor is a bonus. Hours are 6:30am to 10:30am, 5 or 6 days/week.
Additional hours may be available depending on your skills and availability.
Please call the barn directly at 518-456-5010 to apply, and be sure to leave your name and phone number on the voice-mail if we don't answer. Do not reply by DM, the owner will not see those messages.

UPDATE: the people have spoken and we are postponing the show to Jan. 11th. Hopefully the weather will cooperate that weekend!

We still want to host the jumper show this Sunday, 12/7, but we need some feedback from those of you who plan on coming or are thinking about coming. Its going to be cold this weekend, so these are the choices. Please let us know if you have strong opinions and how many horses you will be bringing. You may also call the barn directly at 518-456-5010 and talk to Nora.
A. Run the show as scheduled, with hacking to start at 9am, show starts at 10am, with a couple of schooling breaks when the height changes.
B. Delay the start time until noon.
C. Postpone the show and hope for a warmer day in January. (?)
Also...we have a food truck coming if we run as scheduled!
Adorable picture for attention.

•Marie and Schatzi were Reserve Champion in the Pleasure Division, followed by The Real Boss (Otis) in 3rd, ridden by Angie/Jean.

Kudos to all, and thanks to the whole team both at the shows and at home who are the keys to success… especially Nora!

(Also pictured 6th place finish in the 2’3” Hunters for Emily Weis, formerly at DM, with Smile A While—congrats!)

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to our Dutch Manor show! The home team had a great day, from beginners to the feature Hunter Derby, kindly sponsored by Tracy Mance/ Tracy Mance Real Estate with $1000 in prize money offered! Marie’s Schatzi, piloted by Angie, won the class, with Leo and Charlie right on their heels in second, Lucy and Ginger in 4th, and Jackson and Hallie in 6th. Amy and Gracie both made a return to the show ring and were Reserve Champion in the pleasure division. Willa was a good girl for both Maddelena and mom, Alex, and Maggie was also a star for her two riders, Maddie and Lauren. Some photos of the action below (sorry for the lack of super specific results, but congrats to all on solid riding!)

Many thanks again to all who attended, coached, and kept the show and barn running throughout the day.

After Kathy and Nora figured out their outfit of the day, Nora had to give Miss Amelia some instructions for decorating the jumps. Miss Amelia tried to pass that info along to Simon, but he just wasn't listening. We hope to see you tomorrow for the horse show!!

We have not had enough sunshine to dry out the back ring, so we will be setting for the whole show indoors. There will be a schooling break for 2'/2'3" following the pleasure division, and then we will have a schooling break at 2'6"/2'9" before the 2'6" divisions start.
