There is something I deeply admire about my adult amateur ladies. 💙💜💙

They have careers. They have children. They have spouses, homes, endless responsibilities, and calendars that make my head spin.

And somehow… they still make room for the horses.

They squeeze in the barn before work. They come straight from the office. They rearrange schedules, find childcare, drive in after long days, and sometimes (often!) ride when they are already completely exhausted.

Not because they have unlimited time.

Because this matters to them.

This photo is one of my favorite reminders of that. A doctor, a full-time professional, a mom of two toddlers — and a horsewoman — carving out a little piece of the evening to do something that fills her cup. Just her, her horse, and a sunset.

Here’s to the women who have a million things on their plates — and still make time for their horses. 🥂🐴✨

Dutch Manor enjoyed a fun week of laughs, learning, and competition at HITS Saugerties this week. We had a blast, and success and good rides in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings. Many, many thanks to all who helped out at the barn to keep things running at home.

( Not pictured, Annika and cute pony Wicklyn’s Dream Catcher who had a solid performance in the Children’s Hunter Pony division)

Eli agreed to certain terms for his retirement. We have provided him with a permanent vacation with carefree days full of carrots and games of bitey-face with friends. And in exchange for being a freeloader, he agreed to "the occasional pony ride". Today he met Miss Ella. Retirement agrees with him. ❤️🦄

•Madison Gareis and Ginger garnered the 2’ Hunter Reserve Championship

Dutch Manor had a great time in Vermont last week. Horses all behaved (special awards to good boy green beans Joey and Bishop), goals were achieved, and the weather was almost perfect. Thanks so much to Nora for her coaching, Molly for her cooking and snack prep, and of course to the home crew for managing the home chaos so we could get out there.

The prize list is available for the CDHJC Summer show next weekend at cdhjc.org.
