I just wanted to share something that has been weighing heavily on my heart.
On average, whether it is for a past, present, or future litter, I receive 3+ inquiries and applications every single day/night, along with messages, phone calls, video calls, requests for additional pictures, and questions about our puppies. While I truly enjoy talking with current and future puppy families, these conversations can quickly add up to hours of my day. I want every family to feel informed, confident, and comfortable when making such an important decision. I am always happy to educate, answer questions, and help families understand what goes into adding a puppy to their home when they are truly considering taking that step. But I also need to recognize that my time is valuable.
What has been difficult for me lately is spending hours answering questions, sending additional photos and videos, having phone calls and video calls, discussing specific puppies, and taking the time to help determine if a puppy may be the right fit, only to later find that more conversations are needed at home, such as βI need to visit with my husband/wife first,β βwe need to think about it some more,β or βthe timing is not right.β
I completely understand that these conversations are important and that bringing home a puppy is a big decision. I would never want anyone to feel pressured into making a lifetime commitment before they are truly ready. I simply ask that everyone involved in the decision is on the same page before reaching out about a specific puppy, especially when it involves detailed questions, videos, calls, or discussions about moving forward. Honest communication helps me manage my time while allowing me to give each family the attention they deserve and still be present for my own family.
Like many of you, my days are filled with many different roles and responsibilities. In addition to raising and caring for my dogs and puppies and continuing to support my past families, which is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, I also have appointments for my son every Thursday, spend much of the week taking my daughters to practices and supporting their activities, and above all, I am a wife and a mom.
My family is my greatest blessing, and I want to be fully present for the moments I have with them because those are moments I can never get back. With my children growing up right before my eyes, I know these years are ones I will never get back. Just as I pour my heart into raising each puppy with love and intention, I want to be able to pour that same presence into the people who mean the most to me.
Thank you for understanding that protecting my time is not about doing less, it is about continuing to do everything I do with the same love, care, and dedication that brought me here in the first place.
Every puppy, every family, and every relationship built through this journey holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for being a part of it. β€οΈ
